Phaelia Druid Speed Boosts

Vispiritus of Anetheron has put together a guide on Druid speed in different forms at various levels and with different gear and enchants. While it won’t make or break your Arena play simply knowing how fast you’re capable of moving, it can help steer you in the right direction for optimizing your get away!

Phaelia Honor in the Valley

With some of the most dramatic back-and-forth I’ve seen between Horde and Alliance, this Alterac Valley was an amazingly fun hour and a half. As a healer, Alterac Valley is my favorite of the Battlegrounds — especially since the nerf to the number of enemy NPCs that used to slaughter healers when left unchecked. It doesn’t hurt that it’s the only Battleground Alliance seems to fare well in, either!

Phaelia Peesontrees’ Resto Arena Guide

Okay, I admit it. I really just wanted to include the name Peesontrees somewhere on my blog. Nonetheless, a European Druid by this name from the Silvermoon server has written a four-part guide on Arena play as a Restoration-specced druid. Topics covered include:

  1. Picking the Correct Spec

Pees reviews the spec that’s most popular among Arena druids and which talents he considers to be key. Also included are limited descriptions of variations upon this spec.

  2. Picking the Team

Pees summarizes the strengths and weaknesses of different class compositions for Arena, including recommendations for all three brackets.

  3. Essential Skills and How to Use and Abuse Them

Descriptions of the essential tactics that should be part of every Restoration Druid’s bag of tricks: line of sight, Barkskin, Feral Charge, Travel Form, and many more!

  4. Gear!

While not as extensive as the gear guide provided by Mookysolo, it does include some more generalized guidelines for selecting the right equipment.

All in all, this is a great guide for any Druid aspiring to participate in Arena.

Phaelia Hafu and Kasumi in 2v3 Arenas

Hafu of Bleeding Hollow released the following video of her 2-person Arena Team (consisting of a Restoration Druid and Arms/Fury Warrior) fighting against 3-person Arena Teams (and winning). In it she demonstrates amazing skill at staying out of line of sight while maintaining heals over time on herself and/or her partner. While her use of Cyclone is more limited than in other Druid Arena films, she uses Pounce, Bash and Feral Charge quite liberally. Quick reflexes, great use of line of sight, versatility of play, and a mainstream musical score (as opposed to Speed Metal or Techno) make this a film worth watching:

Phaelia Rumors of Death Knight Class Ability

Published on August 3, 2007 by Phaelia

As reported by a supposed Blizzcon attendee (and reposted by Sakura of Shadowmoon, the signature ability of the new Hero Class, the Death Knight:

Unholy Embrace

Instant 5 min cooldown
Target is embraced by a silhouette of darkness for 6 seconds, corrupting any healing spells and effects cast upon or currently affecting the target to cause damage for 50% of their healing potential instead of restoring health. Any damage shields cast upon or currently affecting the target will also be instantly consumed, dealing 50% of their absorption potential in damage. Once afflicted with Unholy Embrace, the target cannot be afflicted with Unholy Embrace again for 1 minute.

It is possible that this information is false as an article recently posted to WoWInsider.com specifically stated that there was no information in the demo related to the Death Knight class. Information that has been released concerning this class has also stated that it won’t use Mana, Rage, or Energy so the image posted by Baldahr from Shadowmoon may be little more than a convincing fake:

If it is, Arag0rn will have infuriated many players of the Druid class, myself included. If it isn’t … well, I guess we can just rename Lifebloom to LifeBOOM.

Hey, Stormwalker! Great to hear from you! Our little sprout is growing fast, but don’t call him “little” when he’s around or he’s sure to tell you “I a little bit big!” :-)

Hi, Too bad this blog is no longer maimtained. Thanks for you post though. I wanted to address the issue of lefties. I am on, and use the N52TE. I use a trackball with my right hand and the n52TE with my left, no problems.
