As of March 19, 2009, Resto4Life will be closing its doors*.
As you can (hopefully) imagine, this was no easy decision to make. In fact, it’s one I’ve been struggling with for the past three months which – not coincidentally – was about the time I found out the happy news that Mr. Phae and I are expecting our first child. I quickly came to realize that it will be too difficult for me to balance working full time, taking care of a new baby, blogging, and finding time to actually play the game I blog about.
I feel a tremendous amount of love and obligation toward Resto4Life, its readership, and all of the time I’ve given to both over the past two years. I take pride in the readership I’ve garnered and the reputation I have for helping others. All of which are positive emotions. At the same time, however, feelings of guilt, disinterest, stress, and unhappiness have lead me to conclude that it is time for me to move on to a new chapter of my life. Hopefully this will be a chapter where I can consider playing another MMO, drawing, or rereading a favorite book series without feeling a sense of guilt that I’d be stealing time away that could be devoted instead to improving Resto4Life. Perhaps I can finally take a laptop-less vacation or stop compulsively checking my Blackberry every 5 minutes for new site-related emails or comments. And maybe I can finally stop saying “I’m sorry, but I just don’t have time for another personal project.”
I want to give special thanks to everyone who’s helped make Resto4Life what it is or just helped made my stay within the blogosphere a happy one. Runycat of Unbearably HoT, Megan from Out of Mana, Karthis from Of Teeth and Claws, Bigbearbutt, Andrige, Graylo, Daniel from Bigredkitty, Leafshine, Matt and Sydera from WoM, Bell from 4 Haelz, my co-authors Currant and Korryna. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Phae for his dedication, mathematical analysis, and tolerance of my near obsession over the years. Thank you also to the many wonderful commenters who have frequented Resto4Life, among them Zackoria, Ermengol, Hokuto, Nilianil, Tone, Yggdrasil, Bigtoy, Crythia, Zaira, Kestrel, Kalaghan, Keeva, Aiuriun, Warscreamer, Dimitris, Beathooven, Kaera, Josh, Kuhbi, Ammeli, Draezele, Not An Issue, Wise Fox, Adarel, and Horns. Finally, thank you to all the readers out there, RSS or otherwise. Even if you’ve never commented before, thank you for choosing to read Resto4Life. I hope that it has enriched your enjoyment of the game in some way and wish you all the best in your future adventures in Azeroth, Outlands, Northrend, and beyond.
As a celebration of the community here at Resto4Life, I plan to make a final post in March, comprised of reader-submitted screenshots and artwork. Because over the past two years, I’ve tried to embrace and welcome all types of Druid players, you can feel free to submit a picture in whatever form (excluding Elf or Cow for verification purposes) that you prefer and needn’t limit yourself to Tree Form. Of those who choose to participate, I will randomly be awarding a Belkin Nostromo Speedpad N52TE, purchased from the funds I’ve acquired from shirt sales and advertising revenue. I hope that in this small way, I can say “thank you” to everyone who has made such a difference in my life. If you are interested in participating, please be sure to send me your submission by or before March 12, 2009. Due to shipping costs, you must live within the U.S. or Canada to be eligible to win the Nostromo, but I encourage International visitors to participate anyway.
With warmest regards,
PhaeliaP.S. Although the Tree Shirts store will remain online as long as Resto4Life does, I probably won’t be advertising any further sales. As such, U.S. residents still interested in purchasing a Tree Shirt can save 17% with code MARCH29. Canadian residents can use code CADMARCH39. Note that this discount only applies on orders of $25 or more and will expire March 12th.
*The contents of Resto4Life will remain available for at least the forseeable future. However, I will no longer be posting or responding to comments or contact requests. I will also be largely withdrawing (even further) from the blogging community at large, including Blog Azeroth.

By now, you’ve almost certainly heard about the change to itemization whereby the +Healing and +Spell Damage stats are being retired for the less specialized Spell Power stat. What, exactly does this mean, though, and what can you expect at the release of Patch 3.0?
Phae, you will be sorely missed. Arbor Day this year definitely won’t be the same.
Pre-congratulations on the new arrival, and may the road before you be filled with cheer.
Light be with you.
amg Phae! Babae Phaephae! That’s so fantastic. I’m crushed that Resto4Life is closing, but 100 million percent understand. Blessings and peace for all the memories and fun and silliness and excellent resources R4L has been, and best to you, Mr. Phae and the Phae-corn! ^_^
Well first I want to say you will be missed among the community. I am no druid but you have always been such a major part of WoW blogging it will be hard to imagine it without Resto4life. Everything you contributed on your site, Blog Azeroth, and everything has been a huge part of who knows how many blogger’s inspiration. You will be missed.
Secondly a big congratulations is in order. If there was ever a reason to move on, that is definitely it! Maybe we shall meet again in another MMO sometime in the future. Or in real-life you resident of the same state as me person!

Oh, no! I’m sorry to see you go, Phae, but I understand that real life is more important.
[Congratulations on the child, by the way.]
We will miss your advice, but continue to enjoy the knowledge you have previously imparted.
May Elune light your path!
Loni,
Congratulations to you and and the Mister. That is exciting news. I wish you all good health and plenty of patience.
The druid community as a whole has been made better by your kind, and insightful words. You have inspired countless would be bloggers, myself included, to put their thoughts and ideas out there for the community to consider. In the process you helped to turn the druid class as a whole into the best informed, best played class in the game (no bias on my part).
Thank you for all you have done! Good luck with the Real Life Achievement System!
~John (Sioban)
A totally understandable choice to make. Good luck out there in real life, you’ll be sorely missed here in the blogosp… I just can’t say “blogosphere” with a straight face.
Well, wherever I am in these crazy intertubes, I’ll miss R4L. A wonderful, wonderful blog.
And congratulations on the baby! That’s certainly awesome news.
This website has ALWAYS inspired me, it’s an true pity to see it leave – but i can totally understand the reasons for it, congratulations in advance!
Congratulations, and good luck out there.
And thank you for establishing Blog Azeroth- it’s a wonderful resource.
You’ve been an inspiration and a source of great information. You’ve done the entire blogging community proud and know that everything you’ve put into it will be used as long as you keep it online. I hope you can rest easy, relax and know that without Resto4Life as a job, you can 100% enjoy games and whatever else it is tree droodz like these days! The little one that will come into your world soon enough will grant it’s own reward I’m sure. Best of luck to you in the non-Azeroth world and may it be full of kisses and warmth always.

So sorry to hear that you’re leaving Phael, this is one of the best blogs I’ve read and now it’s shutting down
It’s really understandable though, I can sense that this is stressful to maintain, but I’m glad you spread your words in this cheerful blog for as long as you did.
Thanks for highlighting my work and I really wish you the best of luck with your new endeavors with a new family member!
*hug*
Phae, It was your example which drove me to start a blog in the first place and I’ll never forget all the help I received from you directly or indirectly through the Blog Azeroth community. Your personal contributions to our community will be missed I am sure, but your legacy will live on in the Blogs which got their start because of you.
Your door may be closing, but rest assured that you opened many more doors for new bloggers, and we all appreciate what you’ve done to help us get to where we are today.
You will be missed. But, hey.. who could forget Phae?
Good luck in the future
, I must get my tshirts before the store goes down. You have been a great source to us all
.
Phae, it is truly a shame you will be leaving us. Yours was truly a giant among WoW blogs (and without a doubt a forerunner of Resto Druid blogs). I could write for many eloquent pages, and still not convey my appreciation for how much you have given to the WoW Blogger community as a whole.
So simply, thank you.
Best of luck with your husband and soon-to-be child.

Phae, like everyone else is saying, you will be sorely missed. While not a tree myself, I’ve adored my tree healers, and when they’ve gone looking on the web for help and advice, you were always at the top of the list of places to send them. thank you for everything you’ve done for the whole community, not just the bloggers or the trees. /hugs

Very sorry to hear it. This was a terrific blog and a real gift to the community. Good luck in the future. If you ever get the itch to talk World of Warcraft again, drop me a line — you can come on the WoW Insider Show with us any time.
So sad to see you go! I’m not a big commenter but I thank you so much for linking me in the past and adding my (now defunct) blog to the World Tree. You’ve done a lot for the Druid community and have upheld high standards and helped promote many people whether it be their blogs, artwork, or otherwise.
Congratulations to you and Mr. Phae on the new child! I’m sure you’ll both be wonderful parents, judging by your cheerful attitude and respect for other people.
The best resto blog on the internet is ending… T_T
Wow. Congratulations!!!!
Can’t say I was surprised by (some of) the news, though and internally considered for a small moment whether or not the RSS feed I was about to click on was news of you closing up shop.
Don’t be a stranger, okay?
-Tarkson,Thalium,Chad
Thanks for all the posts! I recently picked up a resto druid at the start of Lich King and it was quickly apparent that this was one of the best resto druid sites out there. So I just wanted to say thanks for all your time and content; you will be sorely missed! I also want to wish you well in all your future endeavors. I think we all understand that there are times for change.
/cry <- you’re leaving

Well this is indeed sad news for happy reasons. You created one of the most educational, helpful and entertaining resto blogs out there. I’m going to leave it on my favorites just in case you make some ninja posts in the third trimester or some such.
Congratulations again and best of luck with your future sapling (not weird calling a baby a sapling here, right?), Ulduar, and whatever adventures the future brings!
-Jed (Bigtoy)
I don’t know what to say… You’ve been a great contribution to the WoW blogging community. Reading your site was one of the key factors that led me to respec Resto in 3.0, as well as recently making the first steps at making a WoW blog of my own. I’m going to miss your witty posts and helpful advice; the WoW blogging community will not be the same without you.
But enough of sadness; congratulations on the upcoming birth! Here’s wishing you the best for you and your family in the future.
I remember running across your site when I started blogging back in 2007 and being blown away by your material, and the blog continually got better and better. Best of luck to you, Phae.

Congrats on the new baby!!!
You will be missed by many. I have found your blog to be one of the best resto blogs around, I hate to see ya go, but as a father of 2 young boys I fully understand. I know personally I would never be able to balance as many things as you do. Thank you for all that you have given to the WOW community. Every tank I know owes you tons for saving their in-game lives many times over with the knowledge you have given their healers.
Oh Phae! Big gratz on the… sapling on the way?
Good luck with everything! I hope to see you around sometime in the future!
/hug!
Phae,
As one of the first two or three bloggers who inspired me to try my hand at this blogging thing, I want to say “Thank you!” from the bottom of my heart for your support, encouragement, and friendship.
I wish only the best for you, Mr. Phae, and Baby Phae–congratulations and best wishes, always!

Thank you so much for this blog, Phaelia. Although I do not play my resto druid as my main any longer (and she’s a moonkin now, at that), your blog continues to be a site I turn to for resources on macros, addons, Belkins and the like. You have done so much good for the druid and healing communities. Your insights will be missed.

As one of the “read often, post rarely” readers, I am extremely sad to hear you’re leaving the blogging world. I always enjoyed your perspective on my favorite class in the game, and your writing style was delightful.
Best wishes… you will be missed.
Oh, and as an aside note: I plan on keeping my Resto4Life license plate beyond when people have stopped playing WoW, so that hopefully someday at a convention someone sees it and says “Hey, I used to read that blog too!”
Not really sure what to say besides congratulations on the baby, and I’ll miss you.
Thanks for injecting enjoyable reading into my life with your blog these past few months since I started reading.
Congratulations on the little one! As said as it is for me to see another page I check daily go, I’m happy to see that your life is going great. I know you and Mr. Phae will make great parents, and that the kid is very lucky.
Hopefully I do see you online again soon. I realize that you are busy, and so am I, but a quick raid or instance with my favorite tree would sure be swell. Anyway, expect a nice farewell screen shot soon from your friendly, neighborhood level 72 alt boomkin!
Oh wow, you will indeed be missed. I belong to the non-druid but still a fan crowd, yours was one of the blogs that always inspired me the most. I am intensely grateful to you because my blog was nothing until I got a community link from you.
Best wishes for the future, for you, Mr. Phae and the sapling, the blogging community will surely miss you. I certainly will.

Phae, it’s been a long time since the days of you and I chatting about Resto Druids running around in Season 1 Arena—you’ve been a great blogger to read/admire, a great help in making my own 100,000 visitors event something special, and hell, you make me wish I knew how to abuse my calculator without breaking a nail or getting so bored/confused that I give up and watch America’s Top Model.
But alas, I understand—with a newborn coming, those wild days of us making out on gchat, those wild nights of intense loregasm play on AIM.. the inappropriate, it all must come to end.
And I’m glad that you know yourself well enough to stack your priorities and have the strength to cut things out, even good things or things you really liked or the things that will make us miss you, all to make time/room for the even greater.
Best of luck.
PS. I have the LVL1 Druid name for “Restoforwife” on your server, sucka!

Dear Phae,
Congratulations on the wonderful news! I’m very happy for the two (soon to be three) of you!
Though I’ve only commented very few times, I have been following your blog for the past year. Even during my three months of “hardly any wow” and “no wow blogs” your blog was still one I took the time to read.
You’ve been a big part of my inspiration on blogging and my guide in all things restoration.
You will be sorely missed!
Best of luck in the future and kind regards,
Maiara
I’m not a resto druid myself, but without you and your blog, it’s unlikely I’d have even gotten involved in the Blogging community. Through this blog, I’ve found so many others, and I’ve begun to try and get more involved with other Bloggers via Blog Azeroth (Well, sort of. Still shy!)
Even as a Non-tree, I’ve enjoyed reading your blog immensely, and it’s very sad to see it go. However, it seems that it’s for the best, and I wish you the best of luck for the future.
And, of course, congratulations on the baby!

If I may make a small recommendation/request based upon my departure from WoW blogging, don’t kill the blog. Just put a big “closed” notice on front, but otherwise leave it open. You wrote many things that are still referenced, and leaving them available will be very appreciated by more people than you probably would believe.
And good luck on your other life.
I will definitely miss you, Phae. I read this blog religiously and I will be upset when the lack of updates sets in, but congratulations on the baby, and may nothing but good things come to you and yours for the future.:)

I started reading your blog very shortly after you began it, but I have only commented a few times. You began blogging soon after I respecced resto after being a long time feral druid, and I can not tell you how helpful it was for me. One of my favorite blog entries that you made was when you got your hippogryph. I don’t remember what you named him, but I do remember thinking how adorable it was that you thought up a cute little personality for him (he liked apples, right?).
May you find happiness and joy in this next phase of your life. You will be greatly missed.

But I do understand the demands of real life, so best of luck to you and Mr. Phae and congrats on the little on.
Sorry to see you go, Phae — I transitioned from playing a shadow priest as my main to a resto druid, and your blog was a great help in making that switch. Best of luck and happiness in the future.
Grats on your new sapling! Resto4life was my introduction to WoW-blogs, and I have to say it has remained my favorite. I am sorry to see it go, but I stand with the forest; your decision is completely understandable. Thank you for all the hard work and passion that you put into celebrating the life of a resto-druid. Cheers!
Oh Phaelia, I am so sad to see you go. You were definitely my inspiration to start blogging and one of my first commenters on my blog. We, the WOW community, is definitely losing the smartest tree evah!

I’m selfishly sad to hear this. But as someone who supports RL > WoW, even as I fail at it time and time again, I say to you Brava!
Phae, it has been a great pleasure having the privilege to read a blog of such a caliber, and having you as a member of the community. Thanks for all that you did these two years and for your tireless dedication. Your support of the druids of all walks does not go unnoticed. Congratulations on being blessed with a child. May you and your growing family celebrate many happy years to come.

Resto4Life has been amazing, thank you!
Phae,
I read this post with the heaviest of hearts. There is nothing else quite out there with the humor, gravity and accuracy that you have written this blog with for the past many months. Its been an honor to have been reading, and we are poorer for the loss of your keen insight and quick wit. I congratulate you on your sproutling, and I suppose its up to the rest of us to try and pick up the torch as much as we can.
–Zaira
Rather than handing out loot for the last post, consider giving the winner naming rights for the baby. Think of the possibilities . . . Sprout? Forrest? Blossom?
Thanks for all of your hard work.
P.S. As a new father of a 7-month-old, here is the one piece of advice that I found truly helpful: Sleep when the sapling sleeps. Best of luck.
You will be missed in the blogosphere, Phae, as there will never be anyone quite like you. You inspired me to begin my blog, and you’ve been a great resource and adviser. Hi Phae,
Thank you so much for all the help you’ve given me and my blog. It wouldn’t be where it is and I wouldn’t have gotten a blue post without your example, attention, or advice.
A big congratulations on your first child. I assure you that it is an experience that will blow your mind. I had a lot of expectations about parenthood. I new that I would love my son and that it would be awesome to her him say Daddy for the first time. However, I had no clue as to how much I would love him or how amazing it would feel to hear him yell “Daaa” down the hall so that I would get him out of his crib.
Anyway, good luck with everything.

Hi Phae! First of all, congratulations! Secondly, you will be very much missed and I think that’s fairly obvious by now!
You have been a great help to so many and the result of your efforts is an amazing resource for the whole community. I do realize what time and effort lies behind it though so your decision is very reasonable.
Good luck with everything and take care now!
OH Noes!
Thank you so much for allowing me to double check my theorycrafting. And for all your posts!
I always read you with great pleasure, you will be missed!
Congrats and good luck.
Though I have never been here before (I saw the link on Less QQ) I can definitely relate.
I have recently started a long break from WoW to spend time with my family (though I still lurk on my favorite blogs)
Again, wishing you all the best
Grats Phae, and best of luck for the future.
Perhaps the name of little Phae’s first character?
“Phae-corn” was brilliant
I have read your blog for a while now and though I’ve never been one to leave comments, you’re due for one. Your blog has offered me a constant source of enlightenment and rock-hard math. Any time I would catch wind of a change that might completely alter the way I would play my resto druid, I would hit up my favorite bookmarks and see if Phae had anything to say. You usually did, and it was always presented in a way that let me take a deep, calming breath.
I appreciate what you’ve done so very much and wish you only the best.
*teary* I’ll miss you Phae
Congratulations on bub though <3
Now who will do the math for us? I count on my fingers! *fret*
Keevas last blog post..GC clarifies the OO5SR regen changes
WOw…Sad News. Well I’ve been lurking on this here blog since BC. Ever since the first day, I have been hooked. This was the first “resto druid” site I found on my quest to become as best a drood healer as I could be and you have definitely assisted with that in spades. Your informative guides on everything from mana regen, macros, equipment, and how to heal those damn 5 man heroics accounting for burst damage (especially Heroic MGT) not only helped me get better but also realize that many of the issues I was grappling with were not just “something wrong with me” but things which all druids had problems with.
Your presence will be greatly missed. To be honest, I have no idea how I am going to combat this resto4life addiction without you but I guess you knew considering you gave us all those other druid links including thedailydruid.com
Congratulations on your little tree sprout. If you are 1/1000th as good a mother as you are a druid guide then your child will envy no one’s upbringing.
Good luck with everything in your life and thank you very much for everything have contributed to our lives.

Congratulations on the child, and you’ll be missed. Yours was the first blog I read regularly, and now I have way too many blogs on my reader. So long and thanks for all the fish!

I have not posted many times, but I’ve read everything you’ve created here. Of all the blogs out there yours was the only one that made me keep coming back. You will be missed.
Congrats on the new addition! Best of luck, especially with sleep schedules!
I’m sad to see you go. Now I’ll have to make my own graphs and have my more mathematically inclined husband check them to make sure they make sense
You truly are a gift to the WoW community, and especially the Druid community.
Congrats on the sprout Phae!
I’ll miss Resto4Life. I think that you set the tone for the druid community, and if druid blogs tend to take on a helpful and collaborative outlook, I think it’s probably due to the influence of Resto4Life. There’s no one like Phae! You’ve always been the one to help new bloggers on their way and to put out articles that support both new druids and long-time players of the class.
I think what I’ll miss the most, though, are your beautiful graphics and images–both the ones you created and the ones that you featured.
Best of luck!
Phae, God bless and good luck on the impending release of your family’s first expansion pack!
Thank you for all of the dedication, hard work and contributions to the druid community. Your blog was not only helpful, but extremely interesting for a math head engineering student such that I kept reading it long after I stopped playing World of Warcraft. Believe me when I say that you perform efficiency tests and statistics with the best in the business, and your insights will be sorely missed.

We will miss you, Queen of Trees. Thank you for putting the time in the best druid blog on the interwebs.
Grats on the little one and thank you again for everything you did for us.

Aww, you’ll be sorely missed, Phae! I’ve been reading this blog since the start and it inspired me to go resto and start my own blog as well.
Grats on the new little critter and may your foliage stay green!
The passing of an institution. You will be missed.
Good luck with the next phase of your life. You are certainly right when you say you might not have time to blog, play, have a child, etc. Nothing changes your life as dramatically as having your first child.
Good luck and I hope s/he is a healthy and happy baby.

I’ve been reading your blog for a long time, and it was the sense of community that you and other bloggers created that inspired me to start my own blog. While I don’t play a druid, my wife does and she appreciates all the information they you have conveyed to her through me.

That said, Congratulations on your baby. I know you will bring just as much, if not more, dedication to your new family that you showed us on Resto4Life. You won’t be needing my blessings of luck so we’ll leave it with: You will stay in our thoughts and all of us are /cheering for you.

You will be sorely missed. I took my Resto baby steps thanks to you.
Also, your little one is likely to have a propensity for waking you up at ungodly hours. After a month or so of this you may begin to consider throwing them out the window when this happens. I recommend removing the temptation by securely fastening all windows, and by getting as much sleep as possible while you can. You will not have the chance to sleep in again for six months (if you’re lucky) if my niece has been any indication.

Phae -
I have always enjoyed your blog, despite never having played a druid myself. Your writings gave me insight into the class, and enabled me to understand and evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of druids in both PVE and PVP situations.
I want to thank you for being a silent mentor; I never asked you for advice or suggestions, but I have compared my posts to yours numerous times, trying to find ways to make my posts more informative, more engaging, or even just more fun.
We’ll miss having you around, but I wish you well in whatever path your roots take you now.

I do think that you will find yourself in a new position that you will find enjoyable. Please DO NOT STOP WRITING. I am not a resto druid of any sort but do enjoy your writing all the same.
Why not write about the next eight months, either here or on a new blog? I know that I have come to love you within the blogoshpere!
All of that said Please enjoy the experience you are about to go through and know that my prayers are with you and my wishes of your continued writing go with you as well.

You’ve been a great help and inspiration through your blog and I thank you dearly for this.
Good Luck for the future.
Dear Phaelia,
For about a year now I have checked Resto4life almost daily. Despite not playing a resto druid at the time, I found your description of the class riveting, and the promise of high-level healing managed to keep me focused long enough to level Nazhtarune, my little tree, to 80.
Currently she is hopping through heroics, and the total death count (over dozens of heroics) lies at 7. Of all the heroics I’ve run, only seven times did a character bite the dust, thanks to your excellent advice and motivation.
I am glad to see that the reason for ending your blog is such a happy one, and I hope wholeheartedly that things will be bright and sunny in your future. Although I will miss your take on the Druid, as well as the funny pictures, I cherish the knowledge I gained here. And perhaps, you have inspired enough Druid bloggers to pick up where you left and keep the forest growing!
Enjoy!

Hi all. Lately I hadn’t been too active reading the blog (and certainly not taking part in the discussions). I hadn’t had the chance to play with my beloved tree that much these weeks so I kinda left everything apart, even if just temporarily. And today I pay a visit and see resto4life is closing!
I’m sorry, this is a great site. I’d talk about how useful the analysis articles have been, or about all the interesting and thorough discussions -when not heated
-, or simply about the sharing of funny annecdotes, but I would just be stating the obvious. Just look at this, all these replies from so many people..
Maybe because of it being this great I’m not that sorry after all..
A newcomer just needs a couple minutes to realise the amount of time and effort put in this. The graphs, the funny pictures, the frequent replies.. It’s quite evident how much you care and how demanding this kind of things can be. Even those who just visit the site to read and maybe write some comments now and then spend quite a lot of time around the game (at least I do a bit too much
), so it’s a matter of time someone needs a break, and eventually moves on to something else. What you’ve done (and by you here I don’t mean just you Phae, but everyone helping to make resto4life) is amazing. It’s not hard to imagine how time consuming this must have been. But you can proudly say you’ve made a difference!
If there’s a good reason to leave a personal project behind, that’s a new personal project, and I can’t really think of a better one than having a family! Congratulations for that, I sincerely hope everything will go well. Funny thing this Internet, you may spend hours talking to people you practically know nothing about, yet be happy for them when something good happens. You really sound like a nice person, and I gotta admit I was smiling when I read your farewell post.
Since there’s a reasonably high chance we’ll never meet in person, all I can say is.. Good luck with whatever you do (the only thing you’ll need if you put this much energy and positive attitude) and.. well, just have a happy life!
Best regards from Spain,

Very sorry to hear this, but I suppose the pain is softened by the thought of the little baby druid on its way !
I just want to say that your blog was easily my favorite WoW blog, and was incredibly helpful to me. I thank you for all of your awesome information and wish you and your husband the best of luck with the baby and nothing but happiness.
You will be missed but not forgotten, grats to you both on the new Saproling coming into your life.
Crap I’m the 167th poster. No matter. This is a strange feeling. I’m feeling very happy for you (as happy as someone who’s never ever met you can be!) and yet very sad that WoW has lost a very devoted and intelligent blogger like yourself.
You were the first WoW blog I’ve ever read ,and led me to increase my readership to dozens of others. You were there when I started my journey as a sapling in a raiding world, when I topped my guild’s healing charts, when I left WoW (as a link ^^) and more. Now I know more about resto druid healing than I want to, and everyone in my guild hates me coz i know so much… this is going the wrong way. You feel like my EarthMother! (Gift of the Earthmother geddit? lolol.)
I hope your journeys outside WoW find you well, and if ever you find the time (I’ll be checking!) PLEASE do come update us on how you are doing! I’m sure we’d love to hear from you.
Once again, safe travels. Elune be with you. God be with you.
Can’t add anything to what’s already been said and so will just echo it.
Your was the first blog I started reading avidly and that led me on to others so I’ll be sad to see it end.
But for what a fantastic reason! Congratulations to you both!
Sorry to see you go Phae, you have been a huge help to Druids everywhere and your blog has been a joy to read.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on the new baby! No one could possibly fault you for your decision especially when such an awesome life-changing experience is coming your way. I’m very happy for you and wish you all the best

As a mother tree to three little shape-shifters I wish you all the joy in the world. Congrats, Phae!
Maybe if mini-Phae is like my nephew, they’ll start playing in 3 years or so! (Or trying to lol) I’ll keep my eye out for any level 1’s running around in circles and into walls /s-ing “aagkj;alskdthiejaklht”
Best of luck! ^^
We miss you already!
Thanks for all the work you’ve done. I’ve enjoyed reading this blog for a good while now, and I’m sad to hear it comes to an end. Anyway, i hope the best for you and your child =)
Take care!
Well well, quite the surprise! Come here wondering if there would be any pre-thought posts on the 3.1 patch notes, and instead I hear the wonderful blog has to be let go D: Bit of a shock, hehe.
Congratulations on the reason behind this, though
I was extremely lucky to stumble upon your blog back in BC. The mathematical analysis is something I’ve always appreciated, and it made your writing extremely trustworthy and useful. On top of it all, you’ve got the sense of humor needed to make something like this work. Needless to say, it sucks to have to see you go, as this blog was amazing. You’ve contributed more to the resto community than just about anyone, and you’ll be sorely missed, Phae
Leaving an MMO (if you are, along with the blog) gives you so much more time than you’d think it does. I hope you’re able to enjoy activities you haven’t thought of doing in years. I suppose much of that free time will be taken up by ze little bundle of joy you’ve got there, but, hey, they call it a bundle of joy for a reason, you know
What is it the Tauren NPCs say? “Let the winds guide you,” or something. Yeah, something along those lines to you, I say. Take care in whatever endeavors you choose to pursue, Phae.
Guess I have to do my own math, now. Well, glad my degree isn’t going to waste now
Best wishes,
Nilianil
Congratulations on the baby acorn!
I should have something more interesting to say, but well I’m tired…

Phae, congratulations to you and Mr. Phae on your new “achievement”!
Your blog has been such a wealth of helpful information, witty prose, insight, and humor – truly the best. I have been a faithful reader and will sorely miss you. My tree feels lost without your guidance. Perhaps it is time to finally finish leveling up my frost mage and go DPS instead… May Elune and Cenarius watch over you and your family. All the best!
Why not leave the blog in-tact, turn it over to a couple trusted contributors, and then post here and there when you have the time…
Onward!
I subscribe to 12 different WoW-related blogs, and Resto4Life is the only one that I have always made a point to read every post. Always informative and interesting… I wish you well, will miss the updates, and look forward to more if you ever decide to come back.

Thanks for all the wonderful posts. The community will miss you.
Thanks for all the effort and wonderful information. The blog will be missed.
I have always truly enjoyed reading your blog. I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors. You will be missed.
Another reader who rarely commented, I’m chiming in to say that your voice will be missed. A new baby on the way is definitely a reason to move on to different priorities and I wish you all the best with the upcoming changes to your life. While it’s sad for us here to see the door closing, I’m sure that the other side will prove to be just as much an adventure.
Thank you for all of your time and effort over the years.
Thanks for everything, Phaelia, and Congrats for the baby ^^
I’ll never forget this awesome blog.

I have just started coming here last year your site has been incredibly helpful. I don’t usually post on sites and such, but I will make an exception to say thank you and congratulations. I will miss sending people to this site whenever they ask “how can I up my healing out put” I Just type in caps RESTO4LIFE!!! Thanks again.
Congrats and good luck in RL! =)
Aw you will be missed hun. My druid is lvl 51 now because of being interested in what you wrote. /hugs.

Firstly a big GZ!
I have never really interacted on the site but it has helped me so much when I decided to take my 80 levels of being feral and go resto, from gear, to rotations to talent trees. I owe the site so much and for making my transition to easy.
Thank you and all the best with your growing family.
Many, many, many thx dear Phae, for your terrific job!!
Take care of the newcomer and your wonderful family!

Congratulations, Phae! I hope you have a beautiful baby. I’ve been reading your blog since I started WoW and you taught me druid healing. Thanks so much for all the great posts and helpful theorycrafting. You will be missed, but RL > WoW always.
Congratulations
IThink you definitly did the right choice. I have a family and try to play and tried to have a druidblogg for a short time, I never really manage to get everything together. And I know your new baby will be the center of your life from now on.
Thx for everything you have done for all us druids in the wow.
Phae,
It’s a shame to hear that Resto4life is closing down. I personally believe that this blog has helped resto’s tremendously and I know others would agree.
Congratulations on the child and I hope everything goes well for you in the months and years to come.
You will be sorely missed!
Good luck and thank you again.
I only recently found Resto4Life and was reading it as a sideline to my other blogs as Im feral, but I’ve really enjoyed the time I’ve spent here. Your insight and sense of humor are such joys to read. I’ll continue to work my way through the archieves here as long as they are up.
Enjoy the new addition to the family and godspeed in your every endeavor.
Muchas gracias por el trabajo que has ido elaborando en este blog; felicidades por las razones que te llevan a dejarlo. Un abrazo.
Damn! Now you’ve gone made me post a comment after all this time…
My absolutely fave druid blog, Gutted
All the best for the future guys
Phae, first of all huge congratulations on the news. I hope everything goes smoothly with your pregnancy, and your little sapling arrives safe and well.
Thank you so much for all the efforts you’ve put into Resto4Life. It’s a fantastic Resto resource, and I for one have found it extremely useful, and a great read.
Parenthood will certainly change a load of your priorities, but maybe, in time, we’ll see you back blogging in some form? I can but hope.
Hugs,
Tiniane.

Best wishes phae, you will be missed. And have you thought of any names? We want to hear if it’ll be feral, balance or resto like its mother :>
This is a sad day for Trees around the world.
Phaelia, you are responsible for instilling much of the love I have for playing a Druid, and I thank you for that.
You’ve set the bar really high, and leave a pair of boots (or was that roots?) that will be hard to fill.
Wishing you the best of luck with RL.
I can’t say what anyone else hasn’t already said themselves, so I’ll just repeat.
I read your blog for many reasons. It was insightful, enduring, entertaining, informative, and accurate. It was a project that I could tell you were very passionate about. I admired your dedication and suggested your site to many druid friends of mine (both resto and non).
RL > WoW
Congratulations on your child. That’s such a blessing – I hope you realize how lucky you are. I will end simply and traditionally in saying that I wish you the best of luck with any obstacles that come your way. May you find light in the times of darkness, and let there be happiness in times of sorrow. Farewell.
Phae,
Warm wishes and prayers of love for you and the growing family. Your insight and fun insight will be missed, but you are about to learn all about “Disposable” income and what real life boss aggro feels like.
Enjoy all the days you have as a mother and wife, and come by and check on us silly trees sometime.
p.s. Children are feral spec. For a long time.
You, however, are the right spec to be a mom.
Congratulations on the happy news, and exciting times ahead!
Thank you so much for the wealth of time and loving care you’ve given to Resto4Life and the communities surrounding it. It was inspiring on many levels, and I’ll very much miss it!
*hug*
Since I only recently discovered you, I’m sad to see you go. But congrats as well. Think of it as leveling of another sort but this time the mount is a mini van.
Phaelia,
I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. Yours has long been one of my favorite blogs out there. I loved how you could be erudite and precise on all things druid while maintaining an atmosphere that was inclusive, light-hearted, fun, and almost a celebration of being a druid. You were always, always welcoming to new bloggers and new druids alike. Good luck with your next project, whatever and whenever that may be, and enormouse congratulations and well-wishes with the sapling!
Cheers Phae,
I’ve greatly enjoyed reading your blog the past year or so, it’s been a great source of knowledge and humor
Best of luck with the child and your future!

Phae,
Congratulations on the new arrival, and you will be dearly missed – I have frequented this blog since I started my druid, and I can say, without a doubt, I wouldn’t be the druid I am without your insight and awesome math skills.
I wish you and Mr. Phae the best of luck with your family – and may it be a healthy baby with 10 and 10!
Once again, you have been a staple to the Druid/WoW community, you will be sorely missed.

Phae, you will be missed around here.
I wish you the best!
In all honesty, your blog is one of the very, very few that I read that don’t deal with magery.
It’s really altogether a happy event this should happen-
a little one and being able to devote your time to your family now.
I’ve never really commented before, but I’d like to say that I’m glad I got to before you’ve taken off.
To whatever you believe in- god, gods, or just in love- may you be blessed!

You will be missed! This blog is the reason I rolled a druid, and I think it is why I enjoy it so much. I will truly miss your insight, analysis, and terrific sense of humor (your pics are awesome – tree in a kitchen? Mr. Phae in front of a Slurpee? hilarious).
I hope your new addition enjoys nothing but happiness.
Warmest Regards,

Phae, I just wanted to say thanks for all the fantastic advice, and congratulations on your news! Best wishes and much good luck.
PHAE you will be missed but you are making a very strong decision.
Nothing lasts forever, and I don’t even play the game anymore, but I have still always checked resto4life.com cos you are hilarious and the site is fun.
I hope the absolute BEST for you and yours (and baby!! how cute!!)!! I will miss coming here and reading whatever random tidbits (or not-so-random) you have posted. When I think of my time in wow, I instantly think of resto4life and the name Phae, because my only character was a druid and I totally consulted your site all the time. Also because I started playing right when resto4life started and now stopped playing just as it is coming to a close.
LET THE NEW CHAPTER BEGIN!
~BE WONDERFUL, BE YOU~
This may be offcolour, but we’re all adults here so please don’t hate me… And maybe only the ladies will really “get it”… but
Maybe you’ll end up making a breastfeeding blog called breasto4life? (I totally mean this in a nonsex way, in a total motherly way!!)

I am a newly respecced Druid healer (friends forced me to give up feral so we’d have a regular healer for heroics) and this site really helped me with the transition. Because of you, I learned to love my bark-wearing alter-ego as much as my furry forms. Although I haven’t been reading long, I am sorry to see it go.
Many thanks and congrats in advance.
Well, I never posted a comment before but I read and learnd alot from your posts!
so I just take my chanse now and say Thank you for all the time you put in here and wish you good luck and all the best for your growing family!!
Your site has always been a great help to me while learning how to play a Resto Druid, and you have my thanks for it (your post about setting up Grid was a GODSEND, as well as how to set up the N52te). I hate it that you won’t be posting anymore, but it certainly sounds like you’re stopping for all the right reasons. Best of luck to you and Mr. Phae, and the little one!
I’ll be sad to see your blog go. It’s given me a ton of helpful info and answers to questions since I began my ToL journey. HUGE congrats to your expected arrival. I have three children myself and completely understand your choice. I wish you and Mr. Phae all the best in the upcoming months, and all the days thereafter.

wow, i’m shocked..
I pop by this Blog sometimes, and the information it gleams has been amazing, I usually play a Warlock, but have a Druid healer as a alt who i’m currently still being lazy and levelling, I am really sad to see this blog dissapear, i’ve linked many articles to various Guildies and Friends who play the game, and they have all said it’s an amazing blog with an amazing character keeping it going..
Enjoy your break from Resto4Life, and Thankyou so much for the information and articles you provided over your time, it’s been a massive help to many people including myself!
Congratulations on your new child coming, you could teach it to farm gold for you in the future ;p
Hey Phaelia,
I’ll miss the updates on this wonderful blog, but I hope you have a wonderful future with your husband and sapling. Thank you so much for creating this blog and keeping me updated with all the druid changes.
I have definitely become a better healer because of your advice and examples. Even though you may never see Ulduar yourself, your insight and knowledge will have helped the rest of us druids make it there.
Thanks Phaelia and congratulations!
One of the best resto druid fell to the ground – have an happy return to real life !
Congrats on the baby! I know how badly you’ve wanted one. And I’m sorry to see resto4life shutting down. I do wish you the best of luck raiding and hope to see you around the server
I can ony join the chorus and say: Thank you so very much for your time among us! You will be very missed! And a huge congrats to your happy news! A big good luck in the future!
It saddens me to see resto4life closing its doors. I really enjoyed frequenting this blog and I apologize for not having been around for awhile but college will do that to you. =/
I have never found another blog better written and with a better community then this one. I congratulate you and Mr. Phae on the new little druid in training. ^_^ I completely understand that you’d need to cut something out for the little tike and how running this blog along with everything else is just adding more stress than is necessary.
I almost feel like a kindred spirit as I have had to make changes in my own life to make room for a college schedule. Certain milestones in one’s life certainly have the knack of forcing you to reevaluate what you can spend your time on. Then again that’s why they’re considered different chapters isn’t it? I am grateful that I was able to be a part of resto4life and I’ll never forget my time spent here or you Phae. I’ll keep checking back here till the end.
Have no regrets and look back on this chapter with fond memories. ^_^

Phaelia,
Congratulations on your wonderful news although it makes the entire WoW community sad that you will retire from blogging.
I have a confession to make. My main is a lock but due to R4L I leveled a tree. I stumbled upon this blog while reading wowinsider and I have been an avid reader ever since.
Your blog is amazing. Excellent writing, friendly and useful advise, and math for us theorycrafters. I salute you. You made customizing healing mods a breeze through your posts, and made many healers much better through your discussions and suggestions. Amazing!
All the best for the future and best wishes for you and your family. And thank you for making WoW so much fun through this blog.
/salute
Phae it should come as no surprise with the amount of comments in this post and your regular visitors that you have made a tree-mend-us (see wut I did thar?) impact on the community and the wow blog sphere as well. Your blog has always been top notch in my book and the quality of your posts has found no equal. You will be missed.
I can find no words to make you stay around as I too have found difficulty keeping up with real life as well as life in Azeroth. I can only hope you stay somewhat active in the WoW blog community through comments and on Blog Azeroth forums. Farewell and thank you for what you’ve given to the community.

I wish you the best in your future in endeavors. You’re coming upon a very important time in your life. Thank you for giving so much to the druid community. I have always enjoyed you blog and imagine I will still come back to stroll down memory lane long after you are gone.
Phae,
Even though I’m a Rogue player, I want to thank you for all the work you’ve done for druid community. You have a lot to be proud of. I wish you the best in your new phase of life and hope to see your return to WoW blogging one day.
=)
But, but, but…I just got here.
NOOOOOOooooooo!
Hey, Phae. I didn’t post when you made this entry, but just letting you know you’ll be missed.
Sailing through wow sites and blogs for helpfull information and tips I found this site, linked by many by the way, and been surprized by how much passion and dedication you put to this project. As a foreigner to druid community and maybe still a noob related to wow’s core, I found pleasure and a sense of unity reading yours and others posts.
You should be proud of your work and be assured that you’ve inspired many to search for a reason in playing and thinking of wow.
Best luck and all the worm things to surround you in life, cause I’m sure, you deserve everything happens arround you.
