In a recent Tree-mail, Treehuggur of Suramar (US) asks:
Has anyone compiled a list of green and blue level 80 gear for Resto Druids to start raiding 10s and 25s?
Paininabox of Runetotem (US) has released a spreadsheet that includes many items from Wrath, though it doesn’t include source or stat-based filtering. As such, here are some healing-oriented gear lists with descriptors. And I shall henceforth be known as "Phaelia I-Filter-WoWHead-So-You-Don’t-Have-To" or simply "Phaelia IFWSYDHT":

While there is considerable overlap between the most desirable stats for a Restoration Druid and a Balance Druid, I invite you to read Graylo’s guest post: Balance vs. Restoration Gear.

Zee hobo suit!!
Much appreciated. Even tho I am levelling my druid last, having a list of gear upgrades helps!
Dear Phae, I know it’s kinda off-topic, but, looking at T7/7.5, the “yellow sockets”, what’s better to go for? Sp+haste or Sp+crit? Im quite undecided on that still. Ive specced both into GotEM and the 100% chance to give less casting time on crits, and I just don’t know whether to pick haste or crit in gems. I still assume for a blue slot, SP+spirit or pure spirit beats sp+mp5 or pure mp5 seeing how the talents were changed.
On another note, if you have the choice of spirit or spellpower (ie. bracers), I guess SP is still the stat to go for?
Thanks a lot, I hope I can become an even better druid in Naxxramas ^_-
@Sorayn: I’m glad – I hope they are helpful!
@Whispers: Let me preface this by saying that I haven’t done any analysis of crit and haste recently. My gut would be to tell you to pick HASTE/SP if you are Regrowth-focused (have picked RG as your direct heal) and choose CRIT/SP otherwise. The 50% additional crit from Improved Regrowth makes additional spell crit pretty superfluous.
As for Spirit vs. Spell Power, I’m not really sure. My inclination would be to pick up Spirit if I found myself having to scale backt he use of expensive spells like Regrowth or Wild Growth, but I haven’t run into that yet since I try to synchronize those with Omen of Clarity procs.
Pain you beast! First the spreadsheet, now a gear list! Stop it man, you’re too useful!
Mind making me one for ret paladins?
Joshs last blog post..Dual-Spec Indecision
Hah! Well, technically all I did was the spreadsheet that just includes about 25 items per slot pre-programmed from wowhead. It really isn’t very useful other than plugging in the gear you already have equipped. However, this listing presents me with a direction and inspiration for improving said spreadsheet. As to a ret sheet, come into my office…
Thanks for the mention, Phae, it always gives me warm fuzzies knowing my work is appreciated =)
Very nice list, but there’s one thing still bugging me: trinkets for Resto, particularly pre-raid. I don’t want to give up my precious bangle with no clear replacement in sight! I’ve seen a few trinkets that might be of use once I can get them, such as http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38763 for Spirit boosts or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44015 for some standard mp5, but still have yet to see anything that makes me scream “ME WANTIE!” Any suggestions?
LOL, “IFWSYDHT”. Ok, that actually might be my new officer note. Yeah, I did a similar thing for my guild just yesterday, now only thing I need to do is get them to read it. >_<
P.S. <3 that tunic from the Valhalla quest chain.
Yeah, I was thinking to go for haste as well, seeing the insane amounts of crit you get from some of the T7. Although, there’s lots of haste on healing gear going around too
Thanks Phae for your advice
@DJSCYTHE
I find http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38071 a pretty nice trinket, even though green.
@JEZZABELL
I thought of that one at first, but I’m not sure if it procs from heals.
EDIT: Just checked the WoWHead page and saw it does proc from heals. Thanks!
Wow, Phae, thanks for tackling this one. I really didn’t want to do the blues and greens for my blog–there’s simply too many. Check out my latest post for my Naxx 25 Resto Druid list–I’ll do a similar one soon for Naxx 10. http://www.worldofmatticus.com/2008/11/25/a-healing-druids-naxx-25-shopping-list/
Thats a lovely list phae, thanks.
Shame that unlike outlands, the best heal slot items from quests are opposite the best tank slot items.
At least in outlands I could map out a decent starter heal and tank set ( just in case
) from quests. Looks like this time I am going to have to build my alternate set from drops. ( Though I guess, the best leather heal gear for druids pretty much all came from instances in outlands too )
On the plus side, the way the gear scaled, at least you can go back and grind t6 for gear and know its perfectly acceptable to be taking into naxx.
@Josh: Pain does, in fact, rock, but I was the one who created the gear lists above. =)
@Paininabox: Improvements are always welcome!
@DJScythe: I was just whining to my guild about the 25 trinkets I have in my bank. You see, any time there’s a quest reward that’s a trinket, I always choose it JUST IN CASE it ends up being the end-all, be-all trinket for raiding. Unfortunately, I don’t have suggestions just yet, though Blue Dragon appears to be working as well as ever.
@Jezzabell/DJ: I was wondering if that trinket procs from heals, as well. Sadly it’s only 10 seconds in duration, not the 20 of an Innervate. Still pretty great, though!
@Whispers: No problem! Best of luck. =)
@Sydera: Oh, fantastic. Thank you for sharing! /bookmarks
@QIX: I *was* actually trying to build up a tanking set and a healing set until Currant pointed out that my intended offspec of Boomkin means having a Feral set would be pretty silly, especially when I’m leveling a Feral Druid separately. I’d say that my bank is pretty happy with the decision except I’ve filled up the additional space with trinkets and haste items just in case I want to try a direct healing build.
Oh, thank goodness! Phae, I love you–I’ve been pining after a list like this for days.
Thanks so much for this post. I’ve just changed mains to a druid at wotlk, just hit 80 after levelling feral, and had been going through the exercise of trying to put exactly such a list together.
@DJScythe – http://elitistjerks.com/f73/t37441-restoration_trinkets/ is a recent post that seems to be right on point for you
Is anyone able to shortcut my next exercise and point me in the direction of a list of wotlk raid flasks/elixirs/buff food and enchants for the resto druid?
Thanks Phae, your lists are a great start.
In reply to my own post, it wasn’t actually too hard to put together what I hope is the right list. I’m new to this tree thing though, so would be grateful for any comments

Thanks for all of the researching Phae. For anyone who hasn’t tried out Rawr yet, I would very much suggest doing so. It’s pretty simple to understand and you can plug in gear to see what kind of effect it would have on overall healing. Best of all, you can upload your character from armory so getting started is a cinch.

I found a pretty good pre-raid level 80 guide for tree healing gear.

@Nurowyn, Turb, and Treehuggur: You’re all quite welcome.
@Turb: Thanks very much for that list. I might just have to repost it for all to see (with credit to you for compiling it, of course).
@Meema: Great suggestion to use Rawr. I should try that!
@Guston: Thanks for the link! Sydera did a great job distilling these items into a more manageable list.
