Hi, I was thinking you should update this a bit and make it like a go-to guide for any new/returning Resto druids (myself being one of them heh). Things like the new 6 sec CD on WG, an idea of spell rotations (if there are any), pros and cons of the new (and old) spells etc, would be immensely helpful.

I realize I'm quite late in posting this, but oh well. :D

@Viudas: I'm very glad that you find this FAQ so helpful. And thank you for the compliment on the pictures I create!

@Pilske: I have to imagine that this is something they're going to have to find a way to correct as it works not only for Druids but for Priests as well. Until they DO fix it, however, I need to find an excuse to try it! :-)

@Zaira: Oh, you make a good point. ^^ I'll see about correcting that!

The talent Gift of the Earthmother doesn't actually shave off .30 seconds per se. Unless they've changed it, it shaves off .30 seconds if you have 0 haste (of which northrend gear is packed chock full). If you have any haste, that also reduces the cooldown, which further reduces the talent. So its a talent that gets worse the more gear you have. Sad, but true.

In better news ... awesome roundup! :D

Hello all, Im a resto druid on stormreaver. And i think blizzard made a mistake with the new combat shadowmelt. i have managened it now for a lot of times to ress someone by pressing shadowmelt and then the revive button.
this means that i have next to my rebirth(cr) also every 2 minutes a combat ress with revive. i dont know if this was intended this way but its very nice thing to have.

Phae -

Thanks for the awesome post. I don't have enough time to play and figure things out on my own like I used to, and have found myself relying on your blog in order to keep me up to date.

Also, your pictures are absolutely hilarious...

Great work, thanks again!

@Kae: I'm glad to hear that you've had success with surviving fights using Shadowmeld. I personally have not, though it wasn't clear if a groupmate trained mobs too close to me after I'd poofed, whether I'd used it too soon (do I need to wait until everyone else is dead?), or if it was simply bad luck. Also of note was the fact that this was NOT a boss fight but rather a 3-group trash pull. The mechanics may be different for boss fights with the "combat pulse".

@Tone: That is an excellent question that I'm afraid I don't know to answer. The mechanics of threat have always been difficult to grok for me. Anyone else?

@Geleande: Oh, thank you! Corrected. :-)

@Averna: I HAVE noticed that, and it's very frustrating. I've probably only seen 2-3 rewards so far that were leather and NOT Feral/Rogue. I am guessing we'll only begin to see much leather spell power at 80.

Thanks for answering all of my questions!! =D

Has anyone else noticed that almost all (well, not almost all, but a lot!) of the leather gear quest rewards are aimed towards feral druids/rogues/hunters? I see so much leather that has agility and stam.

It makes me has a sad.

I've also noticed that good gear from Kara and ZA is really lasting through these first few levels. I'm well on my way to 74 and I still haven't replaced a single item with gear from a quest reward.
Actually, I take that back. I replaced my shoulders (which weren't even epic) with some pretty nice greens. But that's it! In TBC, things were being replaced right away. I haven't done any instances yet (haven't even looked at the loot tables) so maybe that gear is much better.

Great post, Phae! Only one minor mistake I noticed: D.E.H.T.A. is Druids for the Ethical and Humane Treatment of Animals, but you left out the 'Humane' part of it.

Hiya,

I just remembered a question that's been on my mind, regarding our new indoor Entangling Roots. I thought I'd post here, in case it's helpful for others!

Since Entangling Roots was made viable as CC for group play, I've been wondering about the threat implications. Since the mob is only immobilized (not fully shut down like a Polymorph or freezy trap), do they still build up aggro on healers while they're rooted? I would worry that if a Druid can't get the mob re-rooted after the initial duration, it would put the group's healer in danger from all the threat they caused, healing over those ~30 seconds. But maybe rooted mobs don't take in aoe threat?

Thanks!
