So while other bloggers are coordinating awesome pre-release parties – some immediately prior to the few Blizzard-sponsored launches – Mr. Phae apparently reserved our two copies at the local 7-11.

I got my copy from one of the Game Stores in town, and I found out on Saturday that the OTHER one is holding a midnight release, but MY one is making me wait until 10am to get it

We’ve got two copies waiting for us at the local Gamestop. Remembering how crowded that tiny store was for BC has me wondering how early I will need to arrive so as not to wait in the line forever once midnight hits…
I will be packing a book to read and something to drink while I wait…
I’ve got mine reserved at a local EB games and plan on picking it up at a midnight release.
I’m not sure when I will get there because my guild is planning one last 6/6 SWP clear before the expantion and our raids end at 11

This must be a regional thing for 7-11, because I think the ones in my area don’t even rent video games, much less sell them. I will be getting my expansion whenever the greatest wife ever lets me this week.

The fastest way to get it is to go through Wal-Mart or any other major retail store that stays open through Midnight. They just bring out a palette of them and you just grab one and go to one of the 10+ registers open. No waiting for 150 people to go through 2 registers at a GameStop.
I’ve got a pre-order at the local Gamestop. 10am for me. =(
Next up, I get to figure out what to do with my resto-druid? Patience is a virtue that I don’t have. So I’m not sure if I want to try to level as a tree or with the battle-chicken or feral.
If I go balance then I can probably do okay with the spell power on what was previously my healing set. But I’ve never played balance and I don’t know a decent spec.
If I go feral, I have my tanking set which, for the most part, is new and still in the box. I haven’t tanked in six months or more. That said, I leveled as feral, so it would just be a matter of scraping off some rust.
Or I can try to level as resto. Maybe Phae can do a post on the best way to try that. At least I’ll save the re-spec cost.
I ordered mine at Gamestop, but as I’m old (ancient–at 30), cranky, and teach 8:00 am classes, I’ll be picking it up Thursday morning. Hey, maybe I can get a Senior Druids Discount.
Our Gamestop guys love us (my husband and i), and beyond the staff there, we are the only person to have ordered multiple collectors edition copies. Its not like i live in a small town or anything, i’m sure there will be quite a few people there, being i’m in Ft Lauderdale and all. I just think that we will be hanging out for a bit with them before the actual release, so we will get ours quickly. =D
Im getting mine sent to me… and I have to wait until maybe even friday to get it… Im not very happy!

@MYC: I was surprised, too. The first game I saw them selling was a Madden game which didn’t surprise me too much considering how many people might hit up the 7-11 for gametime munchies.

@Jer: I WISH. Our 7-11 specifically said that some stores had gotten in trouble for selling it early, so I don’t think they’re going to do so. T_T
@Shasmo: THAT is lame! We have several Best Buy stores here in Salt Lake, and only one of them is holding a midnight release party. That’s what I had hoped to attend.
@Hydra: True. Complaining about WHERE he preordered it is tantamount to complaining he put the coffee cups in with the pots. Wait a minute…!

@Yggdrasil: I’ve only seen them selling games in the last few months. I’m guessing they’re only going to carry high profile items and only for short periods of time. I have to wonder what the marketing plan is. P.S. Wait, Mr. Phae says I’m the greatest wife ever! SOMEONE IS LYING!

@Crythia: We’ve had GREAT luck with Wal-Mart in the past. They generally have plenty of copies of the Collector’s Edition, too.

@ Phae well… i *WILL* have 2 copies of the art book, being as both me and my husband ordered it… and since i dont forsee him hanging a new wow shelf for me anytime soon, our current one only has room for one. I might be persuaded to part with it…

I’m getting my own copy at the local EBstop at the mall. I also got a very creepy message last night of this over exited automated female voice reminding me about the midnight release. Did anyone else who pre ordered with Gamestop or EB get that message? o.0
It sounds like Yggdrasil and Mr. Phae are sending their wives conflicting reports. I smell a fight to the death! ^_^
Hi Phae! Our 7-11 is not selling WOTLK so I preordered mine at GameStop. I got the same scary over-excited female phone call tell me that there is an event from 10-12:00. I don’t think I’ll be dressing up, but I may head down early to chat and maybe meet some new WoW-loving people. Of course I won’t be able to play until tomorrow night, maybe I’ll get lucky and get it downloaded tonight. The minutes are going to tick by very slowly tomorrow at work, that’s for sure. Inspired by you and a few others, I started my own blog: aipixie (Pixiedark) on Blogspot. I think it’s nice to have a place where we can share our thoughts, get feedback from others, and learn from each other. I added your site to my Blogroll, I hope that’s ok! =)

I’m sorry to hear you’re missing part of the tree face. Can I ask what resolution you’re running? I had to trim approximately 50 pixels from the central content area, 50 pixels from the original sidebar, and extend the page width by about 50 pixels to make room for a second sidebar. The actual content of the page should still not exceed 1000px which is my goal to accomodate users visiting with 1024 x 768 monitors, but those with that resolution will see less of the happy tree that’s part of the design. I couldn’t trim any more from the central area because I’ve used graphics that are 600+ pixels wide in the past. =/
