Druids of Azeroth Wallpaper from Andrige

Andrige brings us yet another beautiful wallpaper this week, this one featuring Druids of all both Horde and Alliance and of all specs. This is a piece that required weeks and weeks of painstaking effort, and I’d say the end result was well worth the time and dedication. There are presently two versions of the wallpaper: one with an orange background (for ebil Hordies, no doubt) and one with a blue background.

On a related note, I’ve added a Resources page, specifically to archive things like Andrige’s gorgeous wallpapers and to prevent great utilities like Paininabox’s Wrath spreadsheet and Rawr from being lost among the many other posts here.

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIINS!!!

And for those of you who just couldn’t get enough zombie fun this week, Andrige has also released a great video featuring his own undead escapades:

Bear-o-Lantern (now with Boomkin-o-Lantern)

Reader Tone also sends in this screenshot of his bear dressed up as a jack-o-lantern. Who says Ferals can’t wear costumes?

Bears aren’t the only ones dressing as pumpkins; reader Athryn sent in this screenshot of her Boomkin boyfriend Loupana of Moonrunner (US):

The Feral Prince of Dire Bear

Some people have WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many free macro slots.

Translation:

Now this is the story all about how
My spec got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became the feral prince of Dire Bear.
In West Plaguelands, born and raised
Healing in Tree Form is how I spent most of my days
Stacking Lifebloom and dancing real cool
And Swiftmending some tanks taking damage like a fool
When a couple of rogues who were up to no good
Pulled extra mobs on Jahood
I got in one little wipe and my group got scared
And said "You’re hearthin’, respeccin’, and tanking in bear."
I whistled for my mount and when it came near
The license plate said feral and had a dice in its ear
If anything I could say this mount was fast
But I thought naw forget it, I’m hearthin’ to Shattrath
I pulled up to Moonglade about seven or eight
And I yelled to the trainer, "Yo resto, smell you later"
Looked at my talent tree, I was finally there
To go to Karazhan and Tank in bear.

Thanks to Gidget of Bloodhoof (US) for sending this in!

Stormcrow in Flight

Reader Mike sent in the above picture after having recently completed the Swift Flight Form quest line. This quest series was my favorite in all of WoW, and I’m quite sad to hear that many new Druids will miss out on it since SFF will soon become trainable at level 71. I encourage everyone to do it anyway, because it really is a joy.

Now I feel compelled to email a screenshot of my boyfriend’s “Moonkin-O-Lantern.” :)

So, by trainable they mean “save 5000 gold”? Although it’s not like it’ll be usable until 77 in Northrend.
And yes, the SFF quest is totally awesome, like the Draenei quest that teaches you the Furbolg tongue.

I like how Andrige used the NE cat and the Tauren bear, the best of both worlds.

Oh my god that Bear-o-lantern look just retarded xD
Especially that smug look on its face!
Thanks for the feature Phael ;)

I LOOVE the icons at the bottom of Andrige’s new background. Very clever use of the tattoos and extension to the forms that don’t have them.

I can’t comment on DA, so if Andrige pops back in and sees this, keep up the awesome work. I use the green ToL one as backgrounds on my computer and phone.

I did not know that about Swift Flight Form. The quest line was great fun and although I’ll not complete the last bit that requires a heroic dungeon, I’m glad I did the rest of it. Hopefully Blizz won’t remove the quest line. It should be available to any Druid that would like the experience.

I have to be the one that points out that Andrige called Phaephae Phael.

    FAIL ANDRIGE!

    =(

You’ve been spending too much time headbutting things, your brain seems to have jarred loose.. (and eaten by a …. dare i say it…. ZOMBIE?!?!)

I just want to point out that i didn’t write the Fresh Prince thingy.. I found it and sent it in. I definatly don’t have that much macro room.

Relatively new reader, first time commenter, and re-specced resto druid since the patch. Just wanted to say that, having just gotten the last part of the that quest chain finished off, that it is a must for all level 70 druids who haven’t gotten to it yet. Now my tauren flies with out any broom or dragon. ^_^

@ Andrige: How do you hold the tea cup with no opposable thumbs? LIES! all Lies!

Phae would never have tree *cough* tea…. without all of us!

Oh hey.. funny story. For some reason, i never even knew /scared had a physical emote with it… Well on the way to kill Mother in BT, someone threatened me with a match, after i threatened them with splinters, after they mocked me that since the patch, i have been afraid to let them get to under 2% hp then heal them up like i used to…*grumble* Anyway. i did /scared and got stuck in this posistion, vibrating for 5 minutes. I am now the great Vibra-tree. Available for 25.99g at your local adult shop.

@Athryn: Thanks for the picture. I can’t believe both of them thought to take pictures. :-)

@Beathooven: No, you still have to pay the 5k gold before you can train the ability.

@Andrige: NP – thanks for the awesome wallpaper! I look so cute! (Lulz)

@Plaidman: Yeah, I agree. I love the icons!

@Mama Druid: They aren’t going to remove the quest line. I imagine they wanted to make sure Druids could still get the form once people were no longer gaining the reputation needed to do a Heroic Sethekk halls (although honestly, the best solution would be to eliminate reputation-requirements for those keys).

@Gidget: *Gasp!* You’re right! And I tried to make it clear that you weren’t claiming to have written the poem. :-)

@DJScythe: Thank you for commenting and congratulations on recently acquiring your Swift Flight Form!

@Ribeye: I’m very glad you enjoyed it! I had a great time compiling all these submissions into one post!

@Gidget: That’s actually the same emote as /cower, and I love it! I want to set Phae up in front of Aldor bank, turn into a Tree, and cower. See how long it takes for a forest of shivering trees to form around me!

@Sydera: It’s working for me – mayhaps it was a bandwidth limit yesterday?

/cower looks fantastic when used by a line of Tauren males.

As noobish and sad as it sounds, I was heartened to hear that swift flight form is trainable at 71, the thought of accumulating 5000g for the training (I know I will probably still have to do this, at 600 currently :( ) and then conning guild members into running me through a heroic dungeon seemed like a very very tall order for casual me.

If I can accumulate 5000g before Nov 14th we will see which I choose, the chances of me amassing such wealth are quite slim though…

@Keeva: I must admit that I haven’t borne witness to a cowering line of cow-men. But I can only imagine it looks like hamburgers and … a SHAKE! WONKA WONKA!

@Wise Fox: I definitely can understand the reason for the change, and overall it’s a good one. I’d rather see them simply eliminate the Revered reputation requirement, though, as the content itself would certainly be doable at later levels. :-)

Hey, Stormwalker! Great to hear from you! Our little sprout is growing fast, but don’t call him “little” when he’s around or he’s sure to tell you “I a little bit big!” :-)

Stormwalker
I…I…kinda miss you and your Druidic writings of old. Good to see you’re still around, busy with RL. The little sproutling looks a little bigger now! Regards, Stormwalker, of old.

Hi, Too bad this blog is no longer maimtained. Thanks for you post though. I wanted to address the issue of lefties. I am on, and use the N52TE. I use a trackball with my right hand and the n52TE with my left, no problems.
