I’m sure that this is probably old hat to many of you — especially those of you who spent long and arduous hours smushing bugs in AQ20/AQ40 — but I finally reached Exalted with the Cenarion Circle last night after discovering that the Guardian of Cenarius achievement carried with it a very smexy Druid-oriented title by the same name. Prior to the release of TBC, Mr. Phae and I spent two months in the sandy wastes of Silithus, running quests and collecting … stuff … required to raise our reputation. He was after something at Exalted, but I was only after a reward at Revered, the [Grace of Earth], then the only on-use threat reducer. Various AQ runs pushed me to about 13/21k toward Exalted, leaving me 8,000 reputation left when I headed back to Silithus last night.
In all, it probably took me 3-4 hours to grind out that last bit of reputation, which was so much less painful at 70 both because I could kill mobs in 2-3 spell casts and because they’ve quintupled the reputation gain from turning in sets of 10 x [Encrypted Twilight Text] to Bor Wildmane, from 100 to 500 reputation. If you’re after the title yourself and are curious about the method I used, here’s a brief summary:
- Run to the area marked in yellow on the map below:
- There’s a Twilight camp around this area. You’ll want to stand on the south end and kill Twilight NPCs, collecting both [Encrypted Twilight Text] and the various articles of clothing ([Twilight Cultist Robe], [Twilight Cultist Cowl], [Twilight Cultist Mantle]).
- Be watching for the spawn of the Twilight Prophet and her two cronies from some rocks to the West. Tag her as soon as you see her. She can drop 7-10 [Encrypted Twilight Text] by herself, saving you tons of time. Once you’ve killed her (or someone else has), you should expect a respawn 25-35 minutes later and are free to move about the camp causing mayhem and destruction until that time. If you should ever need to return to town (to sell or turn in), be sure you only do so between Prophet respawns.
As you complete a Twilight ensemble (collecting a hat, robe, and mantle), use one of the two Lesser Wind Stones in the camp to summon a Templar. Each of these that you kill will drop an [Abyssal Crest]. 3 x [Abyssal Crest] can be turned in to Bor Wildmane for 150 additional reputation.
There are probably faster, more complex ways of gaining reputation that involve summoning Dukes, but as I only needed 8,000 reputation, it wasn’t worth the effort to investigate for me.
Here are a couple of pictures of the happy result:
Having acquired the title, I finally gave into my long-standing urge to buy a [Cenarion War Hippogryph], the Exalted reputation mount from Cenarion Expedition. He’s a flavor addition to my very small mount collection since I’ll probably still primarily use Swift Flight Form, but Fedryen Swiftspear practically foisted him on me for a mere 1,600 gold. His name is Tairneanach, and he enjoys chasing Warriors, eating apples, and having his beak scratched.

Thanks for the pointers there, I am going to work on that too.
Grats on the title Phaelia
Im going to stick with my jenkin title myself. Imatrap jenkin has a nice ring to it.
Plus for added flavor
[Imatrap] gains [player x] Living Seed.
[Imatrap] Living Seed heals [player x] for xxx
and yes I’m a guy who plays a female cow so, I’m a trap
Very handy, I’ll probably use this method to grind out Exalted on Cenarion Circle! Unfortunately my Druid’s still only 62, so reaching Cenarion Expedition Exalted seems unlikely at this point. I’m hoping the rep gains for that get changed in some way to make it, if not easy, at least soloable when everyone’s running around Northrend and nobody wants to run SV or Coilfang heroics!
Gratz Phaelia on the title — will be heading to Silithus myself soon to do the same thing, since that title is a must-have for druids.
Charlotta (Amicitia, Scarlet Crusade)
I got that as well, however I grinded up basically from 0 right to exalted. As you said, it’s a very sexy druid title.
My wife helped me with this one (considering I was already CE exalted from helping her to get her War Hippogryph, she was more than happy to. I went back and forth from the camps on the east side and the north side of the highlighted area, my wife AoEing (she’s a mage) everything down in site. We’d loot the bodies, and then go back to the other camp.
It took about 8 hours this way. Which really isn’t too bad. We also made about 1200 gold in the process.
There are actually two Prophets now. One that goes between the two upper encampments and one for the southernmost encampment. They aren’t quite on the same respawn timer, but when grinding texts, 2 Prophets is most assuredly better than 1.
Congrats on your title and your new addition, Phae! ^_^
breanas last blog post..The Mona Pookie!
Grats Phae! My bear other half is only a few Twilight Text drops away from his title now too, so jealous! >.< Running out of time to do everything I want ^^
My Paladin is hoping to get The Argent Champion when Wrath goes live. If I can stop chasing other achievements and doing dailies long enough I’m going to have to figure out how to effectively grind Argent Dawn rep… Though I’d imagine AOE tanking Dead Strat would be the best way.
Gratz! I was surprised as well when I turned in 10 text to get 500 rep … seeing I was only 3k away I gladly grinded for an hour or 2 to grind text and some twilight sets. I also got the tip to kill the prophet that drops twilight text which helped.
Anyone tried grinding Timbermaw rep after 3.0? Any pro tips?
Hercs last blog post..Warrior DPS spec’s and Deepwounds
I’m fairly certain I’ll eventually grind for this one, but it might be a WotLK project. It’s too druidy to pass up, but I have a lot to keep me out of trouble for the next few weeks.
For now I’m happy with Bloodsail Admiral Keeva
Yarr!
Keevas last blog post..Squashling and helm now also from treat bags!
And nobody believed me when I said achievements are a waste of time…
Congrats anyway

I, too, just finished grinding CC to exalted for the Guardian of Cenarius title, so I am Riverrun, Guardian of Cenarius. Personally, I think ALL druids should get that title–it’s a fitting tribute to our druidic brethren. Now all we need is the Emerald Dream expansion…
I started grinding shortly after 3.0.2 hit. I started at honored, and it only took about four days of grinding 3-4 hours a day to get it. I even respecced from resto to balance to make it easier and also to test out how Spell Power impacts healing gear. I can tell you that, with my all-healing T4/5 gear, I was nuking things with ease, throwing starfire for 5k crits while never having to slow down to drink or even heal myself. I’m really looking forward to levelling from 70-80 as balance (with enough points in Resto to get Omen of Clarity and Intensity for maximum mana efficiency). And when the dual-specs come out…wow!
I did that this weekend only starting with 4k left till I hit revered. It took me about 5 hours as a moonkin and a lot of empty bag space! I ran between the two closest camps throwing starfall to collect them up. I’d then toss my shiny new hurricane on their heads. The longest part was collecting loot and waiting on the server lags that came after the patch. Having on my mostly season 4 moonkin gear helped a bit as well.
I’ve been inspired! It’s the next achievement I’m off to get…although it’ll take about 6-7 more heroic runs to get exalted with CE

Question: is it painful to grind out the CC rep as resto, or would you recommend going feral or balance to do this for slightly less pain?
To put things in perspective, I’m a TBC player so my CC rep is currently only at Friendly…
ketsugis last blog post..Steal That Comic
Gratz on the title. The moment I heard that this title was available I started grinding rep with CC to make sure I got the title as soon as the patch came out. So when the patch came out I went online and the first thing I did was… press C and change my title. Probably it will stay my title forever (or for a really loooooong time)
@Ketsugi: Grinding as a resto with the new patch isn’t very hard. Before 3.0.2 I had around 2100 healing power, now I have 1100 something spellpower which makes grinding very convenient. But if you want to do it very quick and you need much rep it may be smart to go boomkin or kittycat to burn even quicker through all the mobs. Phaelia showed one area, but there are 2 more camps which you can visit for CC rep, one just outside of Cenarion Hold and the other in south west Silithus. Good luck with getting your title
sweet i was looking for a cenarius guide and happy i found one on my fav druid site. iv been exaulted with the expedition for almost 2 years now and now working on timbermaw/spor rep gonna move to cenarion circle next and probably use this method.
I don’t know about others but the title is a bonus as soon as I heard the words “WAR HIPPOGRYPH” I already had my eye on rep with the cirlce…

Oh sweet Jeebus, Thanks for this!
This achievement should be mandatory for all Druids :3

@Drun: Good luck to you!
@Eggo: Bahaha @ “Imatrap.” That does have a nice ring with Jenkin, though.
@Agnoster: I’m sure that they’ll make gaining reputation with TBC factions easier at some point in Wrath, but there’s a lot of stuff that you can do ahead of time to maximize your gains. For one thing, don’t do ANY of the quests for CE until you’ve maxxed out your reputation from turn ins of Bog Lord tendrils and Unidentified Plant Parts. A little farming for EXP and reputation before you quest can go a long way toward getting you to your goal efficiently!
@Charlotta: Best of luck to you! When I went, I was surprised that there weren’t very many people (just a Blood Admiral Cowsslip and a PvP flagged Undead Rogue, undoubtedly trying to bait me into pew pewing him). Hopefully it stays pretty empty for you, too.
@Karmakin: Wow, that sounds super efficient. I’ll have to recommend that method to Currant who has a good Mage friend that could help him do the same. Thanks for the tip!
@Sass: I did see the second Prophet on WoWHead, but I was too lazy to try to keep track of two at once. I’m sure that could speed up reputation gains considerably, though.
@Breana: Thank you!!
@Aedos: I know! Luckily, it’s only going to get easier.
@Ninjasuperspy: Argent Champion would be amazing for a Paladin. Good luck with that!
@Herc: Congratulations to you, too! I haven’t tried Timbermaw faction, but it’s something I want to do at some point because of their proximity to Moonglade.
@Keeva: Whoa. Bloodsail Admiral is a HARDCORE title. Congrats!
@Horns:
Clearly, they need a “The Evil” title.
@Riverrun: I agree. I can’t imagine a Druid that wouldn’t want this title. To be honest, it almost felt a little TOO easy to get but that’s probably because I’d already done 2 months of reputation work with CC (before the improvements) and run more Heroic SP than I can count.
@Kila: That sounds like a very efficient method! Congrats on your Guardianship!
@Alt Fanatic: Good luck!
@Ketsugi: I didn’t have any trouble grinding my reputation up as Resto, but I’m accustomed to killing things with that spec. Most things would die in a Starfire, Moonfire, Wrath combo, and I could stand in one place and just spin around nuking things close enough to me then shift to Travel Form to pick up all the loot. However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to spec for Balance at the start of the weekend and spend a long grinding session to finish it off that much quicker!
@Arrwen: Grats!! Mr. Phae also logged in after the patch to discover he had the title, too. That was annoying!
@StarlightW: Excellent! I want to work on Timbermaw as my next “pointless” reputation grind.
@Wise Fox: When those were originally previewed on MMO Champion, they showed 4 or 5 different colors, including one that was white/pink/purple. I was intially pretty dissapointed to find there was only one option when they came out.
@Tigerfeet: /agree
@Phaelia Took me 2 days, but http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Korialstrasz&n=Drun
I started at 2K in honored.
@ninjasuperspy
Don’t bother killing mobs in Strat – a 45 min Baron run at 70 gives you 100 rep for killing Baron (because he’s level 62, green rather than grey), and doing it within the 45 minute timer, you get 300. Get around 560 rep per run, without Stones
On the way, you kill the 3 minis at the Zigs, Magistrate, Ramstein + Baron, gives you minimum 6 Corruptor’s Scourgestones for 150 rep each (50 for handing, 100 for using)
In total you’re looking at around 1500 rep per run, along with a shot at Deathcharger whose drop rate just got buffed to 1%
For any restos doing this, please test out Omen of Clarity with hurricane. I’ve spammed it on another comment thread, but I can’t stress it enough – OOC is likely to proc multiple times off a single hurricane, which means free (endless) casts.
Even when balance, I *will* pass up on starfall for OOC, it’s just so beyond OP right now
Hi!
I decided to start farming for this last night and we encountered a bug which I thought was worth sharing…
Darn, can’t link images… Basically when using the wind stones, our characters would stay on fire until we logged out. Tree on Fire!
Okay, I read about this, and started my farming this past weekend. I went from 4600/6000 friendly to exalted. I never want to step paw in Silithus again!
@ anadia *giggle* yeah, I got plenty of screenies of myself on fire too, lol.
Also, for a giggle. Eat a few halloween candies, and become an Orange Tree! Providing Vitamin C to raids and guildies is good for the mind… and the immune system!
Congratulations on the achievement!
I hope to go after this title as well, though I’ll have quite a bit more ahead of me when I do (both for Circle and Expedition!).
I did poke around in Silithus a little bit, a few weeks ago, just to get an idea of what it would be like. The one minor tip I would add is:
If you find yourself in a situation where there a lot of people farming, or maybe just some level-appropriate people questing in the area and you want to stay out of their way, there’s a spot up in the Northeast that works pretty well for grinding texts. A little bit north of Staghelm Point is a cave filled with “Twilight Flamereavers.” They move very quickly and like to set you on fire, but are otherwise harmless and seem to have a pretty good drop rate. I found that each time I traveled into the cave and back out, I’d come away with around 10 texts. They respawn fairly quickly, so I was able to just keep going as long as I wanted. They also drop the Twilight costume parts, but the downside is that there are no Lesser Wind Stones nearby, so you’d have to visit the main camps anyway. It’s probably not as efficient as bustin’ up the camps, but it’s a backup option if you want more peace and quiet!
I definitely need to work on this, and get my Druid street cred.
@Drun: Congratulations Drun, Guardian of Cenarius! I salute your dedication and perseverance!
@Crimsona: That sounds like a pretty efficient plan for farming AD reputation. I still think that you should at least start one reputation higher up with the corresponding Argent faction in Wrath. I was pretty irritated when I arrived in Zangarmarsh to discover these Cenarion Expedition clowns hadn’t even heard of me!
@Anadia: Haha … you know, I noticed that I was bright orange indefinitely, too. It didn’t occur to me that it might have been from using the wind stones.
@Ylee: Congratulations!!
@Gidget: I tried this and was attacked by a horde of rabbits, thinking me a giant carrot.
@Tone: Thanks for the tip! I hate competing with others for mobs/drops!
Pfew…. Done! (just in time) \o/
I had 8/21k before starting. I feel numb now
