I’m logged out right by the druid trainer in Moonglade, so I can train that as soon as the EU servers come up!
Leafshines last blog post..Preparing for Leafy 3(.02)
Guys and gals, seriously. Get revive and enjoy, but I highly suggest you swipe something. A lot of things actually. Just try it. It’s….it’s…..beautiful.
I can die happy now. Of course, with all of the server burbles last night, I haven’t exxxxxxactly gotten to do more than log in and get thrown back out. But it’s all good. Tonight I shall force my friends to slay themselves just so that I can rez them.
Were it not for the already on-going spam in trade chat, I’d be yelling in every channel possible “LF WARLOCK TO HELLFIRE HIMSELF TO DEATH — I HAZ REVIVEZ!”
One thing I was unaware of was that Nature’s Grasp is now trainable. Silly me didn’t realise it was gone from the Balance tree
Was a nice surprise

And let it be know throughout the land of Azeroth that on this, the 1421st day, a good 3 Years,10 Months, and 21 Days after the beginning of life, the druids of the world were gifted with an OOC, and to rejoice every dead being was suddenly /revived by them.
You know what this means right? Druids are top choice for Soulstones now!
/gnaws on her shiny purple soul…
This means we can jump up and /dance and /laugh at shammies who dont want to use their self-rez now! *glee*
Oh, and @ Chaeli…. I plan on tricking my guildies to try to get the /fall 65 yards w/o dieing acheivement, my leaping to their deaths off Aldor Rise, while i wait patiently at the bottom to /revive them. *evil grin*
I healed a run into heroic Ramps as Balance spec. It didn’t go well for lots of reasons, not least because I was Balance spec. But it did lead me to appreciate the value of Nature’s Splendor to healing. That’s gonna be pretty sweet!
I did get to Revive a few times. It felt… good. Real good.
Edit: Darn… I forgot to use Roots in the instance! That always bugged me most in Ramparts… because the whole thing is OUTDOORS in the first place! Rats!

And blizzard said, “Let there be REVIVE!”
And there was Revive,
And there was much rejoicing!
*yay*
I have yet had a chance to test it out myself, but i look forward to it already! Great victory for us. Enjoy Phae ^^ i think we have u to thank for this too, as a clear voice for us resto droods, u really advocated this, and we are reaping the benefits. THanks so much!
*giggle*
Three /cheers for PhaePhae!!

@ Gidget. Ah yes, the falling 65 yards without dying … I should go patrol the Scryer and Aldor elevators for dead bodies!
After picking up new talents and spells, I hugged the trainer for giving me Revive. I then headed off to start leveling inscription. While I was making inks and glyphs I had a beta flashback as creating an item would trigger clearcasting. =)
Amradorns last blog post..A Glimmer of Hope
It was the most beautiful sight I’ve seen when just before a wipe I was stuck to the ground by the application of a DI
It was so alien feeling…it made my sap tickle… Moments later I giggled in silence as I heard the semi-panicked voices of my teammates begging me to tell them that I had remembered to train my shiny new out-of-combat rez before we left for the instance hehe. Oh sweet flowing energies how I love thee…
It brought a touch of morning dew to my leafy eye
I did a heroic SP run last night so we could all figure out new spells.. the rogue kept dying. I have never been so happy in my life. “Oh, you died again! *bounce bounce Revive bounce*”
Between that and running with a Boomkin who was just as happily rooting things.. man, it felt good.
[edit] And to be able to move in treeform? To be able to keep up with everyone else? I ran around in a bunch of circles right after I respecced.. just because I could. Finally!
Funny story. Don’t forget to train Revive /before/ sounding urgent in Guild Chat about needing someone to die so you can revive them. My poor priesty friend jumped off Scryer tier before I had a chance to tell him I hadn’t trained it yet. So in trying to beat the automatic release, I fell off the bridge in TB and died. He came to TB and died for me there anyway. I gave him the best guildie achievement for being willing to die twice just for me to get to play with my revive.
Drus last blog post..Being a Better Player
Healed Heroic Sethekk Halls with a Moonkin, a shaman and a paladin last night (and a mage, but we don’t talk about those).
The only time someone died I had to “/rw DON’T RES HIM, I HAZ REVIVE – DRUID RES FTW!”
Beathoovens last blog post..Soooo 3.0.2 – initial thoughts
I raced to be the first to rez someone last night in our BT-4-lolz raid. There were a lot of “you can rez now??” comments
Can’t say I enjoyed healing it much though – we already out-geared BT, and with the new talents and mob nerfs, it felt as though healing was far too easy. I’m actually genuinely looking forward to more of a challenge in WotLK when our T6 gear (eventually) doesn’t out-gear instances. Being at 100% mana all the time (I didn’t use a single pot last night) is dull, dull, dull. I was tempted to take off some gear :X
Still, it was fun to let the dpsers have their fun, killing everything in record time.
I was also thrilled to pick up Mixology – I didn’t realise it was coming with the patch. 2hr elixirs.. yum!!
Ah, man… The days of having to run through the entire goddamn MrT because no one has an OOC rezz… I could weep tears of joy.
As I’m usually running with either a Feral Tank or a Feral DPS, with 2 Druids we can Brez each other and wait for the wipe to rez. 15-min druidstones!!!
I will remember this as I chow down on laser turkey and mashed potatoes.
I just trained mine. And can I say–hooray!
Phae, I thought the exact same thing. Thank Elune for this. I am so happy with the druid right now. All we need is some new form skins and the class is perfect.
I ran my first raid since the patch tonight on Mount Hyjal. Usually the druid healers (including myself) way dominate the other classes on overall (trash) healing meters. Tonight, however, I and the other druid were at the bottom. At first analysis it seems that the other healing classes got a larger boost than druids from the patch. I used to feel useful in that instance especially, but after tonight I feel like they could replace me with a pally of less skill and still turn out better
. Am I doomed to respec as a moonkin to become comparably useful again in a raid? Or am I just suffering from “learn2play_again” issues and will eventually catch up to the other classes as my skills with the new spells increase?
I wouldn’t worry about it too much at the moment Metrogon.. post 3.0 mobs have less health, they’re hitting for less, and there’s so much mana regen flying around that our healers were just spamming constantly (not best practice, but they were like kids in a candy store and I couldn’t very well tell them to heal less). To quote one of the priests though:
“I don’t normally spam like I did last night. With the changes to CoH, the changes to PoM, the free flash heals (awesome lol), and whenever i dispelled someone it heals them, I was just going nuts to see what my best HPS would be.”
So basically he was going nuts, spamming everything he possibly could – I think he got something like 4000hps at one point. We can’t possibly compete with that, especially on trash. I felt wholly superfluous on Hyjal trash to the point where I stood and tweaked my mods for most of it rather than wasting my time trying to squeeze any heals in. I wasn’t missed.
Understandably, it all made me feel a bit slighted. A few days ago, I was a superstar healer in my guild; last night.. I could barely get any heals in, and even rolling lifeblooms seemed to contributing very little.
I tried not to let it get to me too much though. I think that once we get into the expansion and mana becomes a little more of an issue, when other healers won’t be able to go nuts and spam constantly, things will be a little more balanced. When we go back to having actual assignments rather than “snipe heal anyone with a health deficit yay” and/or spam group heals constantly to “win” on the meters, we will be back up towards the top of the list for effective healing.
Side note: Are they going to improve Wild Growth’s AI? I was healing someone’s fire elemental last night :X
Yes, Revive is amazing! I panicked though when I couldn’t cast OOC on myself…
Feral Charge (Cat) is amazing too, especially since you can cast it stealthed and not loose stealth.. Makes the raid go “WTF”… untill someone starts replenish, which breaks stealth now
So I got my sapling tree up to 70 finally my 70 priest can RIP. My gear is otter crap at the moment talking hellfire blues. Healing MT last night wasn’t to bad but I didn’t update my ui and that lead to a you noob moment. After punching my interface folder in the face a few times things became easier. Did a few 4 man of BM, for some reason I remember that being harder. I cant find a good place to fit 3sec healing touch in and well I don’t really have a HoT rotation. Going from the priest to the druid has been a refreshing change I just can’t get into the flow of things right now.
The numbers I’m seeing from other healers right now are crazy. Maybe its my gear maybe its level 80 talents at 70. I hope things work out for the tree at 80
Feral Charge: Cat is pure awesome sauce! I defy anyone to use it without being forced to immediately type “Rrawr!” into your chat window too!
Shinanos last blog post..That’s Just Wrong!
Did my first Tree healing of 3.0.2 last night in Kara and it worked out well. LB is less powerful but still kicks butt. Mana was more of a concern, but I didn’t have too much trouble. Wild Growth did very well, though I don’t think Grid can track it yet, so it was pretty unpredictable as to who was getting it.
Revive saved our bacon a few times when our paladin tank got whacked. Yay Revive! On the other hand, Replenish seems pretty useless. But I didn’t feel like I was gimped at all.
ciskos last blog post..Druid healing in 3.0.2
@Leafshine: I’m actually embarassed to admit that I didn’t remember I needed to train it until the morning after the patch. ^^ I hearthed to Moonglade while blow drying my hair!
@Copey: Suh-wip-ee? What is that?
@Sharlot: Careful there. Revive isn’t usable on yourself!
@Chaeli: Yes! Nature’s Grasp and Feral Faerie Fire are new “freebie” skills we get by default. I was pretty happy with that since it let’s me pair Nature’s Grasp + Roots on one button and Hibernate + Cyclone on another!
@Gidget: Amg. I hadn’t realized the Soulstone implications! Now we get to die TWICE on every encounter! *GLEE!* Seriously, that’s great! It IS going to be a bit painful on the repairs, though. P.S. AWESOME avatar!
@Cisko: I’m sad that it isn’t possible to pick up Nature’s Splendor and Wild Growth at 70. It will definitely be my next point expense for my healing spec! Ramparts is outdoors? WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS!?
@Archmera: Aww, well it sure would be nice to think that I contributed to our acquisition of Revive.
Thank you for the kind words!
@Amradorn: Haha … yay, random clearcasting! Maybe we can make bandages when we’re out of mana to try to get OOC procs…
@MakeLoveNotChopChop: I’m glad you had trained your rez before receiving a Divine Intervention as that could have been potentially embarassing.
@Cazenovia: I’ve been amazed at how much more enjoyable it is to heal 5-man instances with the safety net of an out of combat resurrection of MY OWN!
@Dru: In the words of Runy, “Lulz!” You have a nice guildmate. I hope he remembered to strip down before dying!
@Beathooven: Haha – right on!
@Keeva: If I can ask, what is your Spirit/Intellect? Some people have reported having plenty of mana regeneration and some have complained of OOM.
@Triseut: Heroic MgT was the worst run ever. Of course, it doesn’t mean that *I* don’t have to run if I die. *pout*
@Crythia: OM NOM NOM NOM!
@Sydera: Hooray!!
@Malokin: I agree! I want to look beautiful and lush and not dead.
@Metrogon: I’ve heard mixed reviews. My guildmate Korryna healed at the top of the meters in SSC with Lifebloom and WG pretty much tying for amount of effective healing. I’m guessing MH might be different though because of the splash damage? Or maybe my guildmates are just lazier and give WG more time to tick.
P.S. Don’t go Doom Chicken! We haven’t had enough experience to know what’s what yet!
@Keeva: That’s an interesting observation about the ample mana regeneration and lower HP of bosses not giving us a good idea of how we will stack up against healers that typically need to be more conservative with their heals. It will be interesting to see what changes are needed at level 80 (if any). P.S. I hope they do *something* about WG’s AI. Right now, it’s just silly.
@Darene: If you receive Replenish, you lose Stealth? That’s bizarre, and I hope unintentional.
@Eggo: My current spec actually includes 5/5 Naturalist because I’m curious what 1 second HT will be like. I suspect I won’t enjoy it as much as Regrowth for direct healing because it just doesn’t have any “fun” talents like 50% crit or Living Seed. Regrowth’s only going to get more fun, in my opinion, with the addition of Nature’s Grace!
@Shinano: That sounds like a macro in the making! /cast Feral Charge /yell RAWR!!!
@Cisko: I’m glad to hear that you had such a positive experience, and I admit I’m not surprised about how gimpy Replenish is. I’ll have to play with it some more, but as of now, it didn’t even make it into my talent build.
Not entirely sure what I’m running buffed, but unbuffed I’m at 511 spirit and 504 intellect.
I do have the alchemist stone, but I haven’t really been potting much, so that won’t be adding much to my mana. I stack spinels almost exclusively (I think I have a single healing/spirit gem in my helm). I use Draenic Wisdom, Healing Power, and Superior Wizard Oil (spell power rather than mp5). My usual buff food is fish sticks, although I often just use feltail (stam/spirit). I do have Memento of Tyrande, which will give me some extra mana regen. I’m also finding Omen is proccing a LOT (3 procs in 5 casts..??).
On a related note, I’ll be interested to see whether at 80 I’ll need to go back to Kara days of gemming for regen, and waiting for my gear to get to a point where I can afford to stack spellpower again. I’m a tailor so I’ll be using the mana return embroidery, plus the alch stone, plus Mixology bonuses (if I’m using regen elixirs/flasks) – I’m looking forward to seeing just how much of a burden my regen (or lack thereof) will be, and how to manage it. I enjoy that kind of balancing act, and I’m glad that spinels will no longer be “the” gem for resto druids to stack.
Keevas last blog post..How to get 50 mounts before WotLK
Man o man I was in Gruul’s last night, we downed him no problem, and just rezzing the unlucky few who died, for the first time with the revive spell, sent shivers down my spine. Look ma, I can rezzs!
Alt Fanatics last blog post..Lazy WoW Sunday
@Keeva: Wow, thank you for the information.
Your setup sounds similar to mine, although I’ve always preferred to stack Spirit/+Healing and Intellect/+Healing gems when I can (I also have a few Spinels). I love your new blog, by the way, and appreciate all the comments you’ve been leaving here!
@Alt Fanatic: Hahaha … I’m considering telling my groupmates that I didn’t learn Revive because I felt it would diminish the flavor of my class.
I’ve *wanted* to use healing/spirit gems, but at Sunwell level while drowning in excess mana, spinels were the way to go. Although it’s fun to have people gasp at your +healing stats, it always felt a bit disappointing that the content dictated that spinels were what I should have, when I would have preferred to mix it up a bit. So in that respect I am actually looking forward to mana being more of an issue in WotLK because it will let me legitimately stack up a bit of spirit
Thank you for your kind words about my blog – I haven’t made a big deal about it yet because I think I still need to post for a little longer before I pass the link around to people. It’s getting there, though!
Keevas last blog post..Twins, M’uru – back on top!
@Keeva: Gotcha! I’ve always enjoyed mixing my gems by taking the “off” colors of Orange and Purple. Phaelia was fairly swimming in excess mana for mass quantities of Regrowth.
