Over the last few weeks, Mr. Phae and I have been in the process of moving into a rental house, spending the entirety of our nights discovering just how much stuff we’ve accumulated (and no longer need/want). It’s definitely been an lesson in consumerism! We only finished moving into our new place yesterday afternoon, and I’m happy to say there’s not a box to be found anywhere … well, except that one over there in the corner, but I’m going to get to that one … some day soon. And not Blizzard “soon” (hopefully)!
The size of our new rental is more than twice that of our old apartment, but my favorite thing about it is definitely the kitchen. Here I am cooking in it last night:

Would anyone like to take a guess at what I’m fixing?
Anyway, I thought I’d give you all a heads up on why things have been so … very … quiet … around here lately. I figured a month before the expansion was a pretty good time to move. Not that its impending release in any way affected our timetable, but it was pretty convenient! Hopefully, I’ll be back to posting again regularly now that my free time isn’t filled with filling (and unfilling) boxes!

Wrath of the Lich King made a number of fundamental changes to the game, many of which went through so many iterations that it can be difficult to get the facts. You can find a summary of these changes as related to the Restoration Druid in this extensive FAQ!
You’re cooking Golden Fish Sticks, right? Or maybe it’s Blackened Sporefish in anticipation of the patch. Actually it looks like eggplant parmesan. Congrats on the new place. It’s a great feeling to get rid of all the boxes, isn’t it?
@Siobhann: Wow, you’re good! It is, in fact, a version of Eggplant Parmesan. 3 stacks of Lifebloom for you! And, yes, it’s WONDERFUL to be free of all the boxes!
I was going to guess Italian as well, though I wasn’t imaginative enough and started only with “spaghetti” – sounds delicious though. Glad the move has ended well and the apartment is bigger! (Never a bad thing.)
Batwing Crunchies?
No boxies?
Oh and I think that’s tomato-soup with tortellini!
Large scarlet felines? Please say it’s really large scarlet felines, and not eggplant parmesan. Well, in either case, be careful, you don’t want all those dry leaves of yours to catch ablaze.

Trees in kitchens, is that safe? Is maintaining 4 pots/pans similar to maintaining 4 lifebloom stacks?
Glad to hear like you’re settled in ok, some people find moving really stressful (<—).

Please tell me the boxes were made of plastic!
Our poor fallen brethren… Oh the horror!
j/k that food looks nummies
And with three flames there beneath you it is obvious that you must be fairly adept at dodging doomfires
Enjoy your new home! That kitchen does look fabulous, and that picture is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
You can steal anything you want from me Phae
But I want to steal your photoshop skills!

That’s a sweet looking kitchen. If I could cook worth a damn, I’d be jealous.

@Karine: We actually used a combination of low carb pasta and spaghetti squash (I had the former since we had it on hand, and Mr. Phae had the latter). Wow, spaghetti squash is a really tasty low carb substitute! Thank you for commenting!
@Padwar: As tasty as that sounds, no. Although Mr. Phae burned enough of those Eggplant strips that they were pretty similar to the texture and appearance of a fried batwing!
@Andrige: Um … no. That’s weird, dude. Silly Swede.
@Myze: So true. I’m still getting used to cooking over an open flame! It’s much better than the old electric range I’m used to, though!
@Beathooven: Ha … maintaining that many pots IS quite similar, though a couple of those were just simmering at the time the photo was taken. And, while I didn’t think moving was TOO stressful, Mr. Phae informs me that he thinks it was VERY stressful on me (and consequently, him). LOL
@MakeLoveNotChopChop: You win for your name. And the boxes were … mostly plastic.
@Sydera: Thank you!
@Karthis: Awww .. ty for wanting to steal my Photoshop skills, although you’d be disappointed to discover they’re actually Paint Shop Pro skills!
@Josh: It really, really is. I find myself wanting to cook extra even after we’ve already eaten that day. That can’t be a good thing!
Ah nuts, someone beat me to it. A grill guard over one pan meant frying (or at least a vigorous sautee.) Red liquid in the other pan suggests tomato. That green cap looks like the top of an olive oil bottle. And those round brownish things on paper towels could be a lot of things, but eggplant seemed likely. A nice setup you have there. I built a the biggest island my kitchen could hold and put the stove right in the middle of it. Don’t understand why anyone would put the sink there, but people do. Who wants dirty dishes in the middle of the kitchen? A setup like yours is party friendly. You do kitchen theater, talk to your guests on the other side of the island – who have easy access to help you stir and such.
Love the blog, btw – just found it a few days ago.
@Arbolamante: Your name sounds like a delicious preparation or sauce.
I’ve seen sinks in the middle of kitchen islands, but they’re usually termed “vegetable sinks” I think with the idea that you don’t want to drag your vegetables over from having been washed to your preparation area (that and it’s nice to have a sink that’s separate and extra clean for your veggies). They generally have a second sink in a wall counter, presumably for handling dirty dishes.
