@Kolvir: I wouldn’t say it’s “better” to give it to a Shadow Priest. It really depends on the dynamics of the encounter. I have been known to give mine to a SP sometimes, but this article was really intended to show yet another possible application of the spell that many Druids likely haven’t considered!

Hello,

Thanks for the post even though I don’t get innervates (I suppose they go to healers as our Shadow Priests dont get them either).
Is it not better to give them to shadow priests?

@Ghostbaci: Good point about the 10% of the Arcane Blast casts being free! Factoring in the value of Arcane Concentration boosts the total damage output from the mana gained by another 1500.

Using Arcane Power and Icy Veins during Innervate doesn’t specifically boost its value since you can use them outside of it and get the same net effect. Mr. Phae suggested that rather than swapping to a high Spirit 2-hander, that instead swapping to a high Spirit offhand and wand might be preferable. That way you don’t lose too much in the way of spell damage and crit.

@Icyslush: I just tested two applications of Innervate and it would appear that they do stack, after all! I’ve corrected the article above to remove that caveat. Thank you. =)

@Crythia: That is factored in above. In fact, pretty much the whole article depends on the 2-piece T5 set making Arcane a more viable spec (which is explained near the beginning).

Don’t forget to factor in that the t5 bonus also increases mana cost of AB by 20%. Second, don’t encourage mages to burn all their mana at the beginning of a fight to use innervate more in a fight, we all know what happens to Mr. Phae when he goes all out at the start.

Er… did this change? I haven’t looked at it in a while but I remember testing this way back in the days of Molten Core and Innervates did stack then. Or is this just another sign of my senility?

I have a tree as main, and leveling a mage alt, this article is a salvation from the constant comments of guildies “Spirit for mage?! Don’t be a noob!”. So thanks!

I would only comment, that the bonus from innervate is 12% more, since 10% of the arcane blasts are free, and has 30% bonus crit chance with 75% crit damage. During innervate, the damage can further increased by using Arcane Power and Presence of Mind cooldowns. When low on mana the mage can also switch to a high-spirit weapon, most probably a Kara-level healerstaff.
