| Cake from the Post-Battleground Alliance Pity Party |
Reader Nilianil of Silver Hand (US) recently posted a hilarious parody of the song from the end credits of Portal. For those of you living under a rock (or just raiding 24-7), you can listen to the original via YouTube: Still Alive by GLaD0S
This was a letdown.
I’m making a note here:
HUGE FAILURE.
It’s hard to overstate
My disappointment.
PvP Warriors.
We Mortal Strike you because we can.
For the good of all of us,
Except the ones who aren’t friends.
But there’s just one cunning class I simply can’t beat.
You just keep on running it’s almost like you cheat.
And the 2v2 gets done,
And I realize there’s a ton
Of these druids who just
Never die.I’m not even angry.
I’m being so sincere right now.
Even through you broke my snare
And bashed me.
And danced around pillars,
And threw all your HoTs, onto, yourself.
As they ticked it hurt because
I simply could not kill you.
Now these PTR notes give some peace to my mind,
And we’re out of 2.3 they’re patching on time.
Though we had to get burned,
Think of all the things Blizz learned
‘Bout the druids who just
Never die.Go ahead and root me.
I wish that Arena was inside.
Maybe I’ll find someone that can free me.
Maybe the Pallies.
That was a joke, HA HA, CYCLONE.
Anyway their tears are great;
They’re so delicious and moist.
Look at me still typing when there’s Arena to do.
When I check the ratings I get sad I’m not you.
I’ve some matches to be run,
There is screaming to be done
At the Druids who just
Never die.And believe me they’ll just never die.
They’re always drinking so they’ll never die.
They’re pillar humping and they’ll never die.
With their Lifebloom they’ll just never die.
And when you’re Cycloned they’ll just never die.
Never die.
Never die.

Wrath of the Lich King made a number of fundamental changes to the game, many of which went through so many iterations that it can be difficult to get the facts. You can find a summary of these changes as related to the Restoration Druid in this extensive FAQ!

Hahaha. The beginning was a little awkward, but I could hear the song in my head a lot more clearly by the end. I need a little more humor at work.
^^ I know the people who made that cake.
Yay song!
I must live under a rock (I don’t raid) as I have seriously never heard of ‘Portal’. After doing a google search, I assume you are talking about the video game of the same name??? Or is it one of movies with the same name???
FWIW, I think I just might go hurt myself after listening to the song. Ouch is that voice annoying!
I do like parody lyrics.
Bah, forget to fill out one field and my post is erased – oh well :p
As I said before, Phae, I’m honored that you’d post something from me here on Resto4Life – I hope everyone gets at least a chuckle out of it, because that and boredom was the only reason it was made
Also, I’ve never seen that cake before – that’s great, hehe.
@Runycat – I agree, the intro needs tuning. There’s a lot of parts that need some tweaking, some due to syllables, some due to just not sounding right.
@NotAnIssue – Yes, the lyrics are a parody of the song played in the credits from the video game Portal, released with the Orange Box.
Apparently I need to post pictures of delectable confections more often. My blog … it looks so delicious now.
So very delicious. So very moist.
@NotAnIssue
If you like puzzles, black humor, clever dialogue, slick presentation, a relatively quick play-through and surprises, I highly recommend taking a look at Portal. Yes, she is talking about the video game put out by Valve. Play it. Srsly.
OMFG SO FREAKING FUNNY!
Had to give away a mischievous chuckle, nice lyrics (and ofc I had to loop the song for quite a while after I heard it the first time, so much win)
P.S Yes I’ve played the game. Roxx.
–Through The Trolling and Flames–
On a cold winter morning, in the time before the light,
In flames of death’s eternal reign, we ride towards the fight.
When the darkness has fallen down, and the times are tough all right.
The sound of evil laughter falls around the forums tonight.
Fighting hard, fighting on for the nerfs, through the forums evermore,
The scattered souls will feel the hell, threads wasted on the shore.
On the blackest plains in Blizzard’s domain, we watch them as they go,
Through fire and pain, and once again we know…
That they are crying for our nerf, we’re free to fight the druid nerf,
On against the QQers, our quest carries on.
Far beyond the Barkskin, far beyond the moonfire,
Deep inside our hearts and all our souls…
So far away we wait for the day,
For the peace and harmony of all;
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days-
Through the trolling and the flames we carry on!
[Small interlude]
As the patch day is dawning, and the lightning cracks the sky,
They’ll raise their hands to the heavens above with resentment in their eyes.
Running back through the late patch notes, there’s a burning in their hearts;
That the nerf was reversed and their shrilling cries were naught but whining now.
In your darkest dreams see to believe, our destiny is nigh,
And endlessly we’ll all be free tonight…!
And on the wings of a dream, so far beyond reality;
All alone in desperation, that they might move on.
Lost inside you’ll never find, lost within their own minds,
Day after day this misery must go on!
So far away we wait for the day,
For the peace and harmony of all.
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days,
Through the trolling and the flames we carry on!
[Big interlude]
Now here we stand with their angst on our hands,
We fight so hard now can you understand
Ill break the seal of this curse if I possibly can
For freedom of every druid!
So far away we wait for the day,
For the peace and harmony of all.
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days,
Through the trolling and the flames we carry on!
Sorry it took so long to post this, but i had somehow lost it on my flash drive and i eventually had to say screw it and rewrote it again.
Back in 2.3 shortly after they reversed the lifebloom nerf for restos i thought that this song from Dragonforce explains nerfing a class very well, more importently druids! “We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days,
Through the fire and the flames we carry on!”
@Zackoria: That was really cool. Thanks for sharing! I think Druids are pretty much the recipients of all the vitriol formerly being thrown at Warlocks, and all because of a single (okay, maybe two) bracket in one small part of the game. (Admittedly, PvP is a lot more … personal than PvE, so I can understand the hate, but I still don’t like it.)
