Druids Must Have Bunny Form…

January 30, 2008
Categories: Community

You know I couldn't pass up the opportunity to put bunnies on my blog.… We propagate so quickly. One of the best things about Blog Azeroth has been the increased accessibility to new Druid blogs, often within days of their inception. My “Blogroll Possibilities” folder is just bustling with new places to highlight. Here are a few:

  • Adventures in Azeroth
Amanna has completed the relocation of her previously WordPress-hosted blog to a self-hosted platform that’s sleek and stylish while remaining relevant as ever! Be sure to go check out her new digs!
  • All Things Leafy
The journaled horrors of a Feral Druid gone Restoration. Horrors? What Horrors? Granted, you may need to be a little more careful about getting too close to the braziers in Ironforge, but I can’t think of anything “horrible” about making such a switch.
  • Circle of Whee!
Tabithy of Skywall (US) writes about her waiflike Holy Priest, her guild’s raiding progress, and the addons she’s developed.
  • Dark Spot in the Corner
I predict* that Dark Spot will soon be counted among the great Priest blogs of the Interwebs (of which there are far too many to list here; you guys ruined the idea of the “Holy Trilogy” long ago with your plentifulness).
  • Dread Mana Turkey
Technically, his blog is called “On the Trail of the Dread Mana Turkey”, but shortening it makes it more manageable (and boosts him up alphabetically). Its a win-win!
  • Feeding the Bears
Xanathos of Bronzebeard (US) is a Raging Ball of Fur who shares his thoughts on playing a Feral tank. Like his butt, his site is brown.
  • HoTs Tree
Aertimus of Darkspear (US) has designed her blog using the colors most often associated with our spells: green and purple. And yes, I do wish my girlfriend had HoTs like thee.
  • Klank da Tank
KLANK THE TANK! KLANK THE TANK! Anyone naming their blog for an “Old School” reference gets a thumbs up from me. Klanksta of Ursin (US) is the Feral that could, enjoying the role of “PvP Druid Tank.”
  • Kung Pow!
Mmmm … chicken. Waradwen of Arathor (US) joins the ranks of Balance bloggers, writing about his Tauren Boomkin.
  • Mooonfire
Llanion of Arathor (US) cuts right to the point, eschewing the often cutesy names given to Druid blogs and hitting you with MOONFIRE. Over. And over. And over…
  • Tallyswift: The Swiss Army Cow
Referring to the versatility inherent to the Druid class, the Swiss Army Cow is written by Tallyswift of Gorefiend (US) and has one of the more disturbing blog headers I’ve seen. (And that’s saying something.)
  • Tigersoul’s Teeth
Tigersoul of Dragonmaw (US) was originally conceived as a Hunter due to their ability to tame great cats but soon rerolled into a Feral Druid for their ability to become great cats (way cooler).
  • Your Friendly Neighborhood Moonkin
Rakhim of Echo Isles (US) has what is perhaps one of the best blog headers I’ve seen.

* I also do Lucky Lotto numbers.

I’ve also recently completed Spring Cleaning on my blogroll, removing any blogs that haven’t been updated for a month or more. Those of you at the 28 days and counting mark, I’ve got my eyes on you! And they’re glowy, blue eyes, too.

Woot! I updated recently so I’m not being voted off the island! So to speak….

Arathor US, actually, at least for me. And tree druid, actually, but I have an inordinate fondness for pewpew and don’t confine my ramblings and mathematics to just healing.

and *ducks the incoming hammer* Mooonfire, three O’s, a pun on Tauren, though enough people just say “Moonfire” that I figure I may as well just change it. I know, I know, go out and pick a name that’s easily mistakable, number one on list of Noob Mistakes of the Blogging World… *sigh*

Like Llanion, I’m on Arathor US, but thanks for the love!

Your website, and Out of Mana, have inspired me to start a blog of my own! So, looks like I’ll be registering at Blogazeroth, also. Only problem is blogspot is blocked at my work, so I needed to go with blog.com.

Thanks for keeping me entertained throughout the day!

I don’t suppose you know of any pvp-focused warrior or holy paladin blogs? (pvp-focused is almost an oxymoron for Paladins these days…well at least in 2s and 3s /sigh. WTB buff!)

Great list of sites, more awesomeness to check out…

I say they let gnomes become druids and use Bunny Form as their feral DPS form. Gnomes, with big pointy teeth!

@Auryann: Hoooray for updating! But I wouldn’t vote a guildmate off the island. Well unless they stole my pina colada.

@Llanion and Wara: Oops! I swear I googled “Arathor” and found a site that made me think it was an EU realm. Sorry about that! I’ve also corrected the description of Moonfire.

@Simoncowell: Your blog looks great so far. Keep up the good work. Added to my “Blogroll Possibilities” folder!

@Lovemace: There are actually a lot of Paladin blogs popping up lately: Standing in the Back, Crusader Aura, The Paladin Class Leader>/a>, Doofy the Paladin (srsly), Banana Shoulders, Mystic Chicanery. Unfortunately, I haven’t found many Warrior blogs at all, much less ones that are PvP-oriented. You might browse the Introductions Forum over at Blog Azeroth to see if you can recognize any by ferocious-sounding names.

@Dark Spot: You’re welcome! And that’s what an RSS reader is for (and so, too, the “Mark all as read” button ;) ).

    @Sean: Enjoy!

@Zackoria: You are an endless font of great ideas for our class. I support ferocious rabbit form for Gnome Druids. LOL!

Wow! Thanks for including me in this post - I meant to reply earlier… but my work has now decided to block your site. Grr… If only I could turn into a kitty and destroy those lists of “blocked” sites that really SHOULDN’T be blocked! Thanks for your site, there is so much info I’m rolling a Resto alt! :)

Druid-Themed Achievements (21)

Honora
One of our druids would get the “@#$%!!!” Achievement - he innervated a rogue during a BWL fight back in the day. It’s a long-running joke in our guild. I have to show him this and tell him it’s real. :)

Ilaniel
@Cisko: I too have made the Dancing Roots achievement on Nethermancer Sepethrea on heroic. That fight still makes me sweat! These achievements are great! :D

Halfalthaia
Hi Phae, I’m a new poster to your page but I love your posts - I check them every day, keep it up! My main is a holy paladin but I rolled a druid for the awesome utility of the class… and to tank. After season 3 however, I saw the light (or maybe just the green glow of my hands) and decided to do resto PvP. My contributions to your list: VanDamme - Be placed into combat with two rogues in a rated 2v2 arena match and exit combat with 90% total health or greater. (Must be...

“Weren’t you a little disappointed that you turned back into an Elf when you hit the ground?” The Nagrand FP platform wasn’t high enough to kill me. The fall took about 75% of my health away. I can only imagine how funny it looked to anyone who saw it. “WTF? Is that a tree falling out of the sky?”

Justyna
Hmm, I know a Moonkin who can out damage about any Mage or Warlock in a non AoE fight.

Robert
my biggest concern is why lifebloom is being slapped with the nerf bat, and paladins are getting what is seemingly free healing (http://wotlkwiki.info/index.p hp/Paladin#tab=Revised_Abiliti es) because although blessing of light has been removed as a spell, “their effects have been folded into all relevant abilities.” So are we to believe that the pally’s light spells are going to be inherently buffed, and blizz thinks that lifebloom is too powerful?

Badb
It really brings back the point they dont want druids to have too much fun. I’m really not looking forward much to the expansion with my druid main. No new form. Bears nerfed. Trees nerfed. :(
Beta Patch Changes (Build 8681) (21)

Phaelia
@Regindyn: Cute. :-) @Appleblossom: No, I don’t think so. They’ve considered potion chugging problemsome for a while, and I’m inclined to agree. It’s really no fun to have to bring and consume 40 gold in mana potions a night in addition to Elixirs, reagents, and repair costs. Along the same lines as their change to make Innervate trainable to increase the viability of Feral and Balance specs, when something becomes required to raid, it’s a problem.

@Ziss: Good point. :-)

@I: Yeah, the Glyph of Healing Touch seems pretty … pointless to me. Maybe they designed it before adding Nourish.
