Phaelia Updated Resto Gear Calculator

Ahh.... WildheartFlynx of Bronzebeard (US) recently completed an update of Hydrar’s Resto Gear Calculator to include those items made available in Patch 2.3 and has generously offered to make this update available through Resto4Life.com. From the original post on Hydrar’s Resto Gear Calculator:

Hydrar of Uldaman has created an amazing spreadsheet that automatically calculates many healing stats including HP, MP, +Healing, MP5, and tick values for Druid Heals over Time. Possible inputs include “race, gear, set bonuses, gems, meta gems, socket bonuses, talents, buffs, and enchants.”

Thanks, Flynx and Hydrar!

  • Download Hydrar’s Resto Gear Calculator (updated for Patch 2.3)
  • Download Hydrar’s Resto Gear Calculator (original)

Note: I have attempted to contact Hydrar for permission to post the updated version of his gear calculator, to offer him the option to host it himself, or to offer not to share it but have so far not received a response. Should he contact me with a request to not host this updated version, I will willingly remove it.

I would love to see the addition of how Healing Touch is effected based on different talent builds and gear. Say for ranks 4,8 and 13 (or even rank selectable). Yes I know, its blasphemy but I am often Hybrid speced (27/0/34) and use HT in raids when needed. I know just enough Excel to be dangerous so I hope someone more skilled than I can do this.

    It’s Bronzebeard, but that’s okay ;)

This is a fantastic resource, Phaelia.

Bullar, for the higher ranks of HT, then just add your +heal on to an average of the amount that the HT rank hits for for. I’m not sure about the lower ranks, but you can use these formulae to work it out:

[Level at which next higher rank of Spell is Learned] + 5) / [Character Level] = [Downranking Coefficient]

[Downranking Coefficient] x [Cast time coefficient] x [Spell healing]) + [Base healing range] = [Actual healing range]

Check Wowwiki if you want more information. It’s much easier to work out than the HOT ticks. However, you’ll need to throw your talents into the mix as well.

This is an absolutely wonderful resource. I spent about 4 hours playing with it yesterday. I must thank you so much for killing a good portion of my incredibly boring day.
Some of the gear listed was a whole lot better than what i was shooting for, and gave me some great ideas for replacements.
    Phae, ur awesome!

Nifty! It was easy to add some of my lame gear that wasn’t on the list, and try out different gems in my good stuff. As always, thank you for sharing!

I love the tool, but I really wish that it also showed potential upgrades based on your current gear. I guess you can consider me ultra-lazy, but I would absolutely love to see that added in a future patch.

    Great, great tool.

Thank you for finding this tool. It’s added a great tool for figuring out what upgrades I really need and how to gem them up. I still have to find out how to add to it.

Strangely the 13 healing gem is not on the list. And I’m unlucky enough that my belt is a damage/healing belt which is, of course, not on the list.
Being able to add custom values helped with all of that though.

I now have a plan to get myself up to 2020 healing before BT/MH

Now to itemize for Stam, or MP5

I’m so glad that everyone is enjoying the gear calculator! Please don’t thank me, though – it was Hydrar that did the hard work of building it and Flynx that spent the time and effort to update it so that it’s current and still relevant! =)

It’s very easy to add gear that isn’t on the list. Each slot has a tab, just go to the tab and fill in the next line – put in the values you have and leave the rest blank. The main page will include the new thing in the drop down list for that slot. I’m healing in A’dal’s Gift (cloth dmg belt) >.< and a Kilt of the Night Strider (with purified shadow gems!)… I definitely have some shopping to do.

Thank you Hydrar and Flynx! And thank you Phaelia for finding and sharing!

    Hi all.

I’ve been less active in WoW lately. I’m glad that you’ve all enjoyed this calculator. Feel free to use it/update it as you wish.

As much as I enjoyed making the calculator, I’m kinda lazy and keeping it up-to-date would be a chore I do not have time for.

As I said before, I had originally made this just as a tool for personal use… then decided to post it… so it isn’t very pretty, and the coding isn’t very elegant, but it got the job done.

Anyway, I wanted to officially grant you my blessing to use to use and update the spreadsheet as you please!

@Hydrar: Thank you so much for letting us know that it’s okay to continue updating and using your spreadsheet. As you can see, it’s been very well received. I know for me personally it’s been a tremendous help when I receive contact requests about gear. I can frequently just point them here to plug in the items in question to see which would afford the greatest returns in the area they’re currently most deficient! Thanks again!

Hey, Stormwalker! Great to hear from you! Our little sprout is growing fast, but don’t call him “little” when he’s around or he’s sure to tell you “I a little bit big!” :-)

Stormwalker
I…I…kinda miss you and your Druidic writings of old. Good to see you’re still around, busy with RL. The little sproutling looks a little bigger now! Regards, Stormwalker, of old.

Over two years later and this is still relevant and so very helpful. I hope you are having a blast with your little sprout, who’s probably running all over the place now. =D

Hi, Too bad this blog is no longer maimtained. Thanks for you post though. I wanted to address the issue of lefties. I am on, and use the N52TE. I use a trackball with my right hand and the n52TE with my left, no problems.
