How-To: Set up a Custom Avatar for Resto4Life

Want a custom avatar to use on Resto4Life.com whenever you comment? Simply do the following:
- Visit http://site.gravatar.com/signup.
- Enter your e-mail address and click Signup.
- Check the e-mail account with which you’ve registered for an e-mail from support@gravatar.com.
- Click the activation link supplied.
- Enter a password and confirm it.
- Click the Manage link at the top of the page.
- Click on the Add a New One link at the bottom of your My Gravatars page.
- Select either My computer’s hard drive to use a file stored on your computer or An image on the internet to enter a URL of an existing avatar.
- Select a file or enter a URL and click Next.
- All done!
Now whenever you post a comment on Resto4Life.com (or any other site using the Gravatars plugin), your custom avatar will appear!
Note that due to caching performed by the Gravatars plugin, your new Gravatar may not be immediately visible but should show up within a few minutes.

Yea, i did this awhile ago and i couldn’t seem to get it to work. >.< it shows that i have a Gravatar assigned to my email but it dosen’t show. =/
Well, you know I just have to try this, and see how it looks.
(Like Zackoria, it doesn’t seem to show up. Just an empty box with a link to gravatar.com)

Also, there’s one more step: you have to then go back to ‘manage’ and select the avatar you just uploaded. I hope! We’ll see in a second….

The decision to add them is not a decision to be made lightly, since doing so responsibly (which is the only way I could) is apparently a LOT of work. =) I have noticed (and enjoyed) a lot of great conversations going on here lately, though.

Gravatar doesn’t like me!
I’ve tried it before on another account and didn’t work. Seems like it doesn’t work on this one too! I can see it fine associated with this e-mail address and even used all lower case just in, well, case…

I think I already have a gravatar that works.
Kestrel seems to have Gravatar set up but my avatar wasn’t showing on his page. I think I followed all your instructions right, but now I’m not completely sure.

I don’t think it’s working…
I think it sometimes takes a while for the Gravatar to display (I use caching and Gravatar seems to have a bit of delay, too). Also, it appears to be case-sensitive. So check back later, maybe.
And another test here, to check for avatar! ^_^
