Phaelia Featured Artwork: Druidia

What would you get if you crossed Batman the Animated Series with World of Warcraft? You’d probably get something along the lines of “Druidia”, a drawing by artist PieceBy10. Its smooth lines and simple but expressive facial features are strongly reminiscent of the style of Bruce Timm, producer of BTAS. It’s a style that seems strangely appropriate for a game whose avatars and models convey beauty and grace, despite a polygon count that’s much lower relative to its competitors (EverQuest 2, LOTRO).

Druidia by PieceBy10

According to the author’s description, “Druidia” is a depiction of his Night Elf Druid, Klaal of Durotan.

When I saw Druidia, I thought this would be a pic of the planet from Spaceballs.

I am ashamed to admit no knowledge of such a reference. I think I wasn’t allowed to watch Spaceballs due to bad language when I was really little and never went out of my way to see it once I was older. Something to add to the Netflix queue, I suppose!

Hey, Stormwalker! Great to hear from you! Our little sprout is growing fast, but don’t call him “little” when he’s around or he’s sure to tell you “I a little bit big!” :-)

Stormwalker
I…I…kinda miss you and your Druidic writings of old. Good to see you’re still around, busy with RL. The little sproutling looks a little bigger now! Regards, Stormwalker, of old.

Over two years later and this is still relevant and so very helpful. I hope you are having a blast with your little sprout, who’s probably running all over the place now. =D

Hi, Too bad this blog is no longer maimtained. Thanks for you post though. I wanted to address the issue of lefties. I am on, and use the N52TE. I use a trackball with my right hand and the n52TE with my left, no problems.
