For those of us unable to attend Blizzcon this weekend, WoWInsider is providing up-to-the-minute blog posts detailing the discussions and events therein. One of the panels today was the WoW Class Panel wherein developers (including Rob Pardo, shown at right) discuss specific issues related to individual classes. Obviously, more than just the Druid class was discussed so be sure to check out the full summary, but of particular note for Druids are:
Bears tanking and cats killing. Wanted to make sure druids could be viable tanks or DPS in groups and raids. Not just a soloing spec.
Feral and Balance just don’t mix. So planned for mixing with Resto.
No matter what, you still want to heal sometimes.
Druid tree form — too limited — inability to cast all Resto spells. Can only be a backup healer.
Do plan to extend abilities. Decurse and unpoison in tree form. Wanted the tree form to feel different, but will reduce limitations.
We all suspected that changes were coming to ToL restrictions, but it’s nice to see another confirmation.
